As a Huntsman sniper myself... that stereotype is too accurate... it's just luck

This video from SoundSmith was made before the jungle inferno update, before the update the Darwin's danger shield gave you +25 HP and bullet resitance which could make you survive a 150 damage headshot and it was pure cancer. Now it gives you afterburn immunity.

The Danger shield used to give a 25 hp boost, making you able to tank a headshot, now it gives you fire resistance and afterburn immunity, AKA its useless

Fun fact about the Huntman. The arrow can be lit on fire by a friendly Pyro, or a fire cup in medival mode. However for some reason, the arrow can't be extinguished when going in the water. I mean it's kind of an advantage but a total break of the laws of physics. Then again it's TF2.

The Sydney Sleeper (AKA The Piss Rifle) covers enemies in Jarate on hit. If you go for a headshot, you'll deal mini crit damage instead of crit. The Bazaar Bargain speeds up the charge up with every headshot. The Machina is the only weapon that can do a collateral (There's special icons for collats and a sound that stacks with every player killed). The Classic charges up a shoot when you hold the fire button. This weapon can headshot without aiming down sights and gibs players on full charge. The Cleaner's Carbine builds up "Crikey" with damage. On full "Crikey", you get mini-crits for a limited time. The Cozy Camper heals by 1 hp and gives you flinching immunity (You know when there's a Heavy shooting you from afar and your scope starts to jitter around? That's flinching). The Tribalman's Shiv inflicts bleed on hit, but it deals less damage. (But combined with the bleed effect, it slightly deals more, but Bleed can heales through medpacks). That KOTH map is called "Nucleus", it's a good map. Also, the clip with large amount of health, He was playing against bots since doesn't like using Jarate+Bushwachka against real players.

Here's a fact: The Machina cannot be fired unless your zoomed in. If you see 2 enemies (1 at the front and 1 at the back) shoot them to get 2 kills at the same time.

FYI, the Sydney Sleeper is literally a rifle that shoots explosive piss shots. You get hit? You get piss. No headshots. Only mini crits when you hit the head. Can extinguish teammates too if you shoot them. It’s basically Jarate but ranged.

I have something to say about the Tribalman's Shiv. I use it with the Razorback SPECIFICALLY for those Trickstab-happy Kunai Spies. They will, without fail, ALWAYS stab the shield. Once they do that, I smack em once, and laugh as they scramble away to find a health pack before they bleed out.

If you Jarate a target, any damage dealt to them will become a mini-crit. The Cleaner's Carbine charges up a meter and then makes all your attacks mini-crits for a short time when activated. The Bushwacka deals a full crit whenever it would normally mini-crit. Thus, hitting your Jarate or activating your carbine basically gives the Bushwacka a 100% crit rate while the effect lasts.

The Cleaner's Carbine is an SMG with a Suppresor attached on it.

In the Bushwacka section, SoundSmith was playing on a LAN server. He, like in the Reserve Shooter section, refuses to use it against human players. The Soldier count was probably just the bot AI. He was playing on a map called koth_nucleus, and his HP was the result of sv_cheats 1 and hurtme (some ridiculous negative number).

12:58 Bushwacka, deal full critical damage, when it would normally mini crit. Cleaner's Carbine, deal enough damage with it to build up the Cricky meter, when full, press secondary fire with it as the active weapon. Congratulations, all your weapons now deal mini crit damage for a few seconds. Jarate, coated enemies are dealt mini crit damage.

9:20 I just go for stabing the Razorbacks, they are made to break. I know I shuld just shoot. Totally not taking out my frustration over never getting my own stabbed, whenever it is equiped, not at all.

The Darwin's Danger Shield used to be EXTREMELY unfun to fight against because it used to give the following: +25 Max HP (Bumps to 150 HP), +20% Explosive resistance, +15 Bullet resistance. These stats makes it so that a fully over-healed sniper (worse with a Vaccinator medic) is practically invincible and almost neigh impossible to kill without extreme focus fire or a flanking pyro. And considering that snipers are almost always behind their team, sending a pyro to kill one sniper through all that is impractical. Today, the Darwin's just gives the sniper take half damage to fire and immunity to afterburn. In other words, it's changed from the ultimate crutch utility to an anti-pyro tool. Perfect for dealing with pyros that spam the scorch shot, or show that flanking pyro that you can take the heat.

The Danger Shield used to be completely broken in Sniper Duels. It gave a 25 HP health boost, bringing the Sniper up to 150 health, and gave a 15% bullet damage resistance. Basically, if one Sniper was wearing it in a Sniper duel, he could one-shot quickscope his opponent, but his opponent could not one-shot quickscope him. It either forced his opponent to charge a more powerful headshot or equip the Danger Shield themself. For that reason, it was completely banned in Competitive TF2, back before TF2 had built-in competitive.

-The Machina (and by extension, the Shooting Star) is the only sniper rifle that can get collateral kills. However, you can't actually pierce unless your shot is fully charged, and you can't fire at all out of scoping. -The Huntsman (and Fortified Compound) is notorious for the absurdly large hitbox the arrows have. Think the FUBAR hit registration that the melee weapons have, and apply it to a projectile. You can also have an ally Pyro light up your arrow (or via torch in Medieval mode) for increased damage and afterburn.

The bizarre bargain is so true! I used to be that guy. Hide my dot, make sure it’s about head level, wait for the enemy team, quickly move mouse, headshot, repeat, no words at all, just relaxing sniping. Even on attack defend when the round is just starting I’d have my scope aimed at someone and wait for the door to open when the round starts and get a instant headshot at the beginning of the round. It was fun to do that with other snipers to see who can kill each other first.

So essentialy, the 150 damage of an uncharged, scoped, headshot, and fully charged, non-machina, bodyshots, would be lowered enough for the sniper to survive, and possibly kill the enemy sniper that shot them, in retaliation. Essentially, it was a crutch to cheat sniper duels. Now it provides sniper with just a 50% fire damage resistance, afterburn immunity and... what was the drawback now again? Besides lacking a secondary weapon?

For the danger shield it is a clutch weapons for sniper back in the day becuase you can survive a quick scope head shot from other sniper meaning that people will have to equip it to have the same playing field, now it just a anti pyro item

honestly, i could see a change to the bushwhacka being 'mini crits deal an additional 25% damage

@theduckgoesmoo the classic is designed around pressing and holding fire to charge the weapon, without having to scope in. all of the sniper's rifles have a charge mechanic that starts when ye zoom in. the classic lets you do so WITHOUT needing to scope in. press and hold, then release to fire. you can land headshots while unscoped with it as well. problem is that you will slow down as if scoped in when you charge the weapon, regardless if the scope is up or down (imagine a sniper using this item scoping in, moving at normal speed due to its charge mechanic). the other downside is that it cannot be fired in the air whatsoever.

Sydeny sleeper can headshot btw at full charge it does 150 damage in body but does 205 damage in the head. It can also extinguish your teammates who are on fire by scope shooting them. These states are not written for it ingame for some reason.

Darwin's Danger shield basically makes pyro almost useless against you, which is kinda pointless because they should not even be getting close to you in the first place. So many people hate this weapon because of the stupid stats it has.

The classic is like a reverse sniper rifle. Its comparable to the beggars bazooka. You hold down left click to charge a shot, you can barley move while charging it, the longer you charge the more damage. You can charge your shot weather or not you are scoped.

You can get collaterals with machana, or with explosives.

6:20 The Classic, deals less damage on body shot, can only headshot on full charge. Charging the shot is indipendent of scouping. To charge up the shot, press and hold the primary fire button. To shoot, release the button. So, fireimg vise, essentially, the rifle version of the bow, but unlike the bows, you have to swap weapon to stop charging up a shot, as secondary fire just toggle the scope instead.

The Classic makes you able to charge it and get headshots without aiming it, also it’s the same sniper rifle as the Team Fortress Classic’ Sniper

i a classic user like to use it like a meme weapon like i use a crocodile hat and darvin's shield so i look like a crocodile and i call my self croco snoiper and i charge up my shot for no reason and get headshots by accident when the enemy gets in y face when i stop holding my mouse button they are dead (there's alot of gramatical errors or other errors sry about the confusing text)

So the Classic is a weird sniper. How it works is that instead of charging up by ADS'ing you charge it up by hol- wait, ok this is easier if i do it this way. The Classic is like the Beggars bazooka of the sniper class, you charge it up by holding down your fire button and you actually shoot the shot when you let go of said fire button. As you noted you walk REALLY FUCKING SLOWLY while charging because it acts as if you are ADS'd. You have the same movement speed charging with the classic as you do ADS'ing with any other rifle

If you still confuse about the Classic Sniper Rifle then you should react to Bad Weapons Academy about it.

The update thing is just the creator of valve - gaben saying 2 sentences in a private interview about tf2, nothing is set in stone apart from him saying those two lines and the community took it so out proportion like with everything "new" coming to tf2, if you want to react to it I recommend reacting to either bigjoeys (more optimistic) or zesty jesus' (more pesimistic) video on the matter

The reason why the Classic sucks is cause you can’t get a headshot unless you charge up the meter by holding down mouse 1. The Darwin Danger Shields is Frown upon in the Sniper weaponry. I think it’s cause of one of its Resistant.

The classic is a weird weapon the main draw the the ability to charge headshots without scoping thus preventing tunnel vision the issue is its clunky and has too many down sides To fire you must hold M1 and release to fire Only headshots when fully charged -15% damage penalty (I think it’s been a while) Cannot shoot while jumping or in the water Gibs enemies So not great and rather gimmicky
