I honestly think I have a mental block with clearing touhou because of this one run from so long ago. I choked HARD and regret it to this day.

I was panicking so hard when I even made it that far. I made it to the last two spell cards in go for the first time and was a nervous wreck so that really did a number on me.

Lol that's how my first run on the spell ended. I was salty so I just kept trying and beat it and the stage one hour later

The exact same thing happened to me the first time I made it this far. I was utterly devastated. I'm the stubborn type though, so after sleeping it off I got back to trying the next day and managed the win before long. And somehow, on the attempt I finally won I actually had two lives left over. Figures.

I do hope you got the run eventually though. DKOs happen... especially on Extra(/Phantasm) stages. You also had a very solid Clear pace going into the final 3 spells so no doubts you could pull it off again.

NOPE. I have not gotten past the Ran spellcard ever since. I can't even consistently practice since modern windows either: does not want to cooperate with running the game (even under Vsync patch) or I get annoyed early in the run and stop playing to save my sanity.

That last second is so tragic ong Why do you keep shooting during timeout spells? Not having to worry about pressing the buttons helps in dodging a bit.

it's a habit I developed since I play on keyboard and I tend to have an easier time bombing that way.
