If you are bald, remove the airpods max from your list. They are incredibly uncomfortable if there is no hair to prevent those two metal bars of this way too heavy headset to not dig into your skull.

@@aaronloudnwireless - I thought you were spot on about the sound quality of the Sonos! For my ears, I thought the Bose sounded the best! The Bose and Sony's microphone performed the best! And like I predicted, Bose has the best ANC! 😁 The transparency mode is not too shabby either!

Good review. You mentioned that you'd prefer the Bose QC Ultra over the Sonos ace. I returned my QC due to the static hiss/white noise from the ANC when the surroundings is silent. This made me crazy as working in an open office if can often go from very loud to people being silent and focused many times during the day. So i am curious: Did you feel the static hissing from either/or both the Sonos and Bose?

Hey Aaron, I have the B&W PX8 and would like to get one of these headphones for on-the-go. However, the AirPods Max are out because they are uncomfortable. Which of the others would you recommend to complement the PX8? Something with good sound but different from that of Bowers & Wilkins. Thanks in advance.

Had Px7S2 and QC Ultra. Forget the Bose! Not even close to B&W. ANC is better. But the rest is a lower league. Switched to Ace, love the overall package and sound is really good. Bass as well. No idea what’s wrong with some people’s ears.

AAC on iOS sounds good enough for most, especially with ALAC files in Apple Music. There’s a reason why Apple doesn’t hurry to support aptX HD or even LDAC. Don’t worry

Great video around the popular headphones out there~ I ended up purchasing the Sonos Ace on launch myself and I'm pretty happy with them. I loved the Airpods Max but just couldn't justify the price for such aged headphones. It's a pity since I'm still hoping for some Airpods Max 2 to be announced to fit into my Apple ecosystem, Sonos does a great job though if I manually add them to the desired devices haha.

Gonna sell my QC Ultra. The Ace sound way better to me. The material seems to be better as well, the Bose feel very plastic. Also, the Ace delivers sound via USB-C and can charge the same time. Good for lossless, whereas you gonna need an additional DAC for the Bose. The button function is also more convenient on my Ace compared to my Ultra. The Bose immersive sound is not convincing, sounds like sitting in a huge can.

@Aaron X Loud and Wireless .. different buds - I'm late to the party, but saw them on Amazon for $219 and decided to gab a pair of Bowers & Wilkins Pi7 S2 True Wireless Earbuds .. when the released about a year or so ago, they were $400 ? .. they have some missing features, but I'm told the app and firmware have been updated, so they are lil better now .. however, I'm basically getting theses for the sound quality more than anything else, so as long as they are comfortable, I think these should be ok .. we shall see once they arrive .. says scheduled to arrive tomorrow ..👍🏾 .. Do you have Bowers & Wilkins Pi7 S2 True Wireless Earbuds .. what you think about them .. let me check your videos and see ..

Yes. I also do hear, not as loud as with transparent mode, but still. However, in public transport i barely hear any noises without music. IT seems the headphones somehow identify the environment around you and manages the level of NC according to it.

There are many reviews of Sonos Ace and comments on sound quality is quite different (could be radically different in some cases). I have watched at least two reviews which measured the frequency response of Ace and both shared similar result, i.e. slightly over on ~100Hz bass and ~6K treble, but slightly less on 2-4K, which is not entirely aligned with the review here. I have AirPod Max, XM3 and tested XM5 before ... I would say, at least with iPhone, AirPod Max's sound is far superior than XM3/5 (to sound good with Sony I believe using devices supporting codec like LDAC is needed). Unfortunately I can't test Ace in local BestBuy - don't know why I can't pair their demo unit with my phone. However, the bottom line is, I still think Ace is over-priced.

I got them with discount but honestly, I would have paid even more than the asking price! AirPods Max and Px8 are more expensive and nobody complains. The Ace are the same league and people find the smallest piece of shite to complain. In my case, the Ace replace the Px7S2 and QC Ultra! Those were not cheap either on release day. The Ace are the best package I ever had, great sound, stunning ANC, comfortable and the buttons are awesome to use. Way ahead of B&W and Bose.

Sony has really bad comfort - you can wear a bose the whole day without any problems - i have both - sony and bose cannot eliminate human voice, and that is a big problem in office

Maybe it has no LDAC, but the Sonos sounds a lot better when comparing normal tracks. You can listen to 1000kbps on the Sony vs 400 kbps Sonos, but the Sonos has more details in sound.

Sonos Ace supports Snapdragon Sound (aptX Lossless) Bluetooth codec which has maximum bitrate of 1200kbps. LHDC was created by Savitech as an alternative to LDAC and handles 24-bit/192KHz audio quality, up to 1000kbps. Sony's LDAC 32 bits/96kHz audio quality up to 990 kbps . Apple's Advanced Audio Codec (AAC) Bluetooth codec has a maximum bitrate of 320kbps !!! You should pay attention to your Device and Headphone codec support. You won't get the best audio quality if your Device or wireless Headphone only support AAC and SBC codec. Match your Device and Wireless Headphone with AptX HD, LDAC or Higher bluetooth codec !!! Don't be fooled by apple !!!...lol

The Sonys feel horrible on your head after a very short time, the ear padding is horrible, gets itchy and greasy, the thin head band is also horrible, bose all day long for important things like comfort and noise cancelling, the sound quality difference is so minute renders it unimportant
