The name Pablo doesn't faze me in the least. I do like the art deco font they used. If anything, the first person I thought of when I saw "Pablo" was Pablo Picasso.

I do like that style but I’d be leaning towards the Steinhart equivalent for around the same price

As a native Spanish speaker I would only wear that watch if I were also called Pablo. By the way, I have more issues with that "Profundo" .

Actually I think it may have been named after Pablo Picasso, who was well known for his many deep sea diving expeditions and explorations. RIP Pablo, who knew that your "blue period" came as result of a bad case of the bends??

I don't think it's any worse than having "Christopher Ward" on your watch dial and I like a few of those (or any other proper name) my middle name is Paul right enough.

It has the same ring to it as the old ‘Carlos Fandango’ race wheels :) I like the watch, but as I have lived in Spain for many years the name just seems silly to me. My mate Pablo would love it though!

Fantastic..you are the first reviewer to pull one of these bracelets up over the micro adjustment..I have the Crepas polonguer..same problem in 22mm....it has 6 micro adjusts but only 2 are useable....drives me mad on a 600 pound watch...well done for bringing this up

Yeah, with that name, at that price, you could get a Squale 1545 Militaire for less than $100 more, and have a fully Swiss made retro diver from a brand with horological significance, and still not be in the big mainstream camp.

Almost bought one of these from Gnomon. However, the lack of micro adjustment, that name & the addition of crown guards kept me from doing so. I dig the retro vibe, but EVERYONE is doing it now. It looks like a 1000 other watches. Too bad. Good job Jody! Keep 'em coming. Cheers.

Hard to beat that 2824 movement, the watch seems a little thick. Great vintage look.

Following your stream of thoughts, there was a guy called Pablo Picasso back in the time (not to much in common with Singapore). In addition, in my country (BG) from centuries there was (and still running once a year) a competition with work horses called Tudor (not to much in common with this British dynasty and probably older than it). You get my point, I hope :). Anyway, thank you for sharing this watch!

This is what Tudor should've done with their Black Bays. I love the Bezel and Riveted bracelet it looks like a comfortable watch. Don't get me wrong Tudor is also comfortable on the wrist

I tend to agree with you. The dial impacts a great deal of both the resale and perceived mystique in the wrist presence. Here you have a great retro watch, and in fact I think it is a better buy even at higher cost than say the Spinnaker retro Dumas, but I wouldn't buy that watch because I just don't need more diver. And if I were, the name and dial would give me pause. I have a similar situation with a watch Jody convinced me to buy from one of his other videos...the Borealis WatchMark Portus Cale. It is a great watch but the WatchMark printed on the dial I think impacts its desirability quite adversely. I'm in no hurry to sell it as it is a wonderfully comfortable and great black and gold for more sem-formal wear, but every time I think of pruning the collection, I look at it and think to myself "I'm not going to get much for it, so I might as well just keep and wear it, even though it is taking up space." Watch world problems.

Jody, would you be able sometime to give a quick explanation of beat error and what you look for in terms of beat error when on the timegrapher? If a watch runs +/- 1 or 2 seconds a day why is beat error important. Sorry I dont know but I find it interesting.

i have an even bigger problem imagining putting 'dan henry' on my wrist. i wish more micros would leave brand names off the dial entirely. let the design speak for itself.

Pablo mármol y the Spanish name for Barney rubles from the flintstone but Berne’s is from bernando and Pablo is from the San Pablo but never the less, deep and Pablo I don’t know what to say.

OK tell me why none of the microbrands center the lume pip inside the triangle, its always low on it. I love how the Tudor Pelagos has the pip dead center on the triangle and I hate it mircrobrands don't do this.

My Revue Thommen Seamark uses a similar bezel.

It is as if they are going for the Vintage Red with out the red text on the dial.Hence the crown guards.

I'm glad they jumped in to fill the underserved $500 diver market.

I like the looks, I like the specs. The size is a bit small for me - I prefer 41-44mm for my wrist. Not crazy about the name - but its better than BLWRX!!!

Hi Jody! Nice looking watch. I happen to have a Black Bay 58 and there are many nice simmilarities between them. The big turnoff is the “Pablo” name... i am Brazilian and the name “Pablo” here is usually linked to cheap comedy or Pablo Escobar. Either way, having it with no brand at all would be nicer (LOL)...

Maybe Pablo was the one who said to the proprietor “quit [fill in the blank], follow your passion, build watches”. And the words of wisdom were so “Profundo”.

You should check out the Filipo Loretti watches. They seem to be selling crazy amounts of them. Really be curious to hear your honest opinion on them!

Normally, I find Rolex knock-offs annoying, but, as a fan of re-issues of '60s and '70s dive watches, I find that this one is a true beauty. I only wish they had put a more "box"-like crystal on it.

Spanish speaker here. Honestly, while the name is not the smartest choice, it's better than Neymar or BRWLRX. At least it's generic and readable.

The real question is what is the PABLO really concealing in the large cargo storage box then 🤔 putting that aside its a pretty sweet looking time piece, definately a Submariner Homage but this one has a really nice look to it with a wonderful vintage appeal a cross between Rolex & Tudor...but I have seen in sometime in terms of style & look. I would definately be very interested in one of these despite the moans & niggles Jody's. $500USD is little overpriced, I would of thought $300-$350 MAX in all honesty. If your looking for a quick sale give me a shout mate.

I'm rather surprised there is no talk about the transition from the band to the case. I know Seiko is known for bands that have nothing to do with the watch they are attached to, but this one felt like a hostage situation.

I'm also at odds with the name "Pablo" Jodi. I first see this Rolex Submariner lookalike and it has the name "Pablo" in it and I couldn't help to have the name "Pablo Escobar" run through my head. Makes you think how this will sell in Colombia or Latin America.
