In 2022, we vlogged our ‘big shop’ at Walmart. Now, in 2024, we decided to revisit Walmart and examine how prices have changed. We’re curious to see how they compare to the UK today. If you’re planning to visit Orlando this year and shop at Walmart, our vlog will assist you in budgeting for all the goodies you love to buy!” 🛒🛍️

I thought your shopping cart was much cheaper in Orlando than here in Cheshire. I shop in Asda, Tesco and Aldi buying certain things in each place depending on price. Your Aldi is cheaper for fruit and veg compared to our Aldi. Dollar Tree have great prices on store cupboard items like soda, chips, dips, pork rinds, Campbell soups, candy, etc - it’s the first place we go on arrival. We love Publix which is pretty much equivalent to our M&S, Waitrose & Sainsbury prices. We love Publix for their freshly made subs and donuts in particular. Their own brand products are good and decently priced too. Since the pandemic prices have hurtled worldwide and now forced to shop around the various options for the best value. Watching your video and all this talking of food is making me hungry 🤤 Thanks for sharing, it’s always good to see what other people buy in their weekly shop and comparing prices 🙂🤗

@jademoore1423

@bec.11 Just looking at the average wage in Australia, current statistics say it's around $98,000, whereas the UK, our average wage is around £35,700. When that's in Australian dollars, that's $68,000, so a big difference. Might be a reason why you pay more for shopping. Either way, it's ridiculous pricing and cost to just feed your family nowadays.

Thanks for doing this showing the prices in Walmart. We were wondering how much more expensive it would be. We are coming to Orlando in September,so you have given us a good idea of the prices. We came 2 years ago and thought it was expensive then. We are really going to have to cut down on what we buy when we come. We normally go mad shopping in Walmart but no more i am afraid. And you are right the food is cheaper in England compared to Walmart, but we still moan about the prices being high here. Thanks again for doing this.

Very interesting to see the prices and compare to UK. I mostly shop at Sainsburys and Lidl and spoil myself with an occasional haul in M&S. We have a lot of offers if you use the stores' cards and that can make a big difference to the prices. I still love using the local markets for fruit and veg and a trip to Bury market is a real treat for decent bacon, sausage and, of course, black pudding and local cheeses. Being able to taste before you buy on those also helps. I'm looking forward to a good look around Walmart in August

I was very surprised to see the “exact” same prices at your Florida Walmart, as we have here at my Washington state Walmart. The Raisin Bran, the mini bakery pies, the papaya, the pink cookies, the frozen brussel sprouts, the 24 pack of Coca Cola, all priced exactly the same, (although I did pick up several cases of Coke for $7 each, right before Memorial Day.) The Walmart prices are usually better than our Safeway/Albertsons store, unless they have an advertised sale. Fun video, and I hope you didn’t forget your chip dip! 😁

Wow, the cucumber and the bread really stood out for me! So expensive. Overall it didn’t strike me as hugely more expensive than the UK, but of course the quality of the food comparatively is questionable. I’ve read about the preservatives etc they use in food over there, and put it this way, I wouldn’t be buying supermarket chicken 😂. Always fun to see what’s available though. I also love the US supermarkets for choice, but the nasties in the processed food is not good. Same in a lot of countries, but seemingly worse in US. I have noticed in recent times that food prices are through the roof there, compared to say even 4 years ago. Similar story most countries, but again , seemingly more so in Florida..and other states. You'd definitely think fruit and veg would be cheaper in Florida given the climate and not necessarily the need to import... Maybe like so many others countries/states production of fresh produce is becoming a thing of the past and there is now too much dependency on imports...🤷 We were in Sardinia recently and food prices are really high...I was shocked tbh

Their higher wages do make up for it, for more stuff. Uk wages are soso, a bit wonky at times, they do balance /average themselves out with everyone.. unlike the US, the wage gap(FL) can be low to big 25k-150k average; which the poorer bottom isl most likely suffer more and buy less...Better have the skills, so liike 50k can be prety good, if you live in the poorer part with low rent, not the gentrified part.

What we have noticed on our Orlando holidays is that the cost of meat is pretty high. There weren’t to many steaks being thrown onto the barby that’s for sure. But even as a two person household, 120 dollars a week seems quite a lot to me. I’ll have to pay attention next time I go, though we have pretty good discount shops, Aldi Lidl etc pretty close and I just pop out if I need anything. We don’t really do a big weekly shop that often. Also, next time you go, could you give the price per lb or kilo? The sizes of bags over there is pretty large at times. A 200g jar of Nescafé Gold blend for example costs €12.50 ish, which was €9.99 pre pandemic.

Which Walmart do you shop in? The one we went in on holiday 2 weeks ago seemed much more expensive for fruit. Are they more expensive the closer you get to Disney? Also every time we went in it, it was like Tesco on Christmas Eve? It’s so quiet in that one. 😮

you've only shown 2 kinds of fruit so far and i can tell you its half the price of walmart stores in Alabama. that pkg of strawberries is nearly $6 and the grapes are also nearly $6 a lb. so it is cheaper by half at least for fruit in Florida! The prices around the store seem to be pretty consistent between there and our stores here in North Alabama.

That's crazy prizes. I'm in the UK and did my weekly shop today and it came to £100 ($120 ish) which sounds comparable but I got a lot more food for that, including 2 whole chickens, 4 pizzas, a 2.5lb gammon, 2x 1lb of ground beef plus all my fruit, veg, snack bars, crisps, milk, juice etc. Also, I paid £1.50 for 500g of grapes which equates to $1.90 per lb!!!

@@ThemeParkBazza yes true can't compare to 5 years ago. I do however think the prices are comparable to what you showed today what they are now but can't be sure on that as I don't shop at Wal-mart much. I shop Costco, Aldi, and the military commissary. If I desperately need something that I can't find elsewhere it is Kroger or Harris Teeter but don't do much shopping there as their prices are so high.

I mainly shop in Aldi, I did our big shop in Tesco last month and broke through the £200 barrier for the first time. I was horrified and wont be doing that again Ow Much I hear you cry.
