It’s crazy the amount of times Alan has screwed up and he’s still his crew chief. 2020 ELLIOT won that team the championship. He’s constantly had to carry this team on his back. And 90% of the time he’s taken fault when it wasn’t his fault at all

Some of this is on Chase. He missed a race for a penalty and missed several races because of his accident. That puts a lot of stress on a team. Otherwise they my not be in this situation.

If anyone should be off their game it’s Elliot not the team, but it’s the team screwing up more often than not. He’ll look at last seasons playoffs giving him shit cars every week and Elliot having to muscle it to a top 10. Elliot missed 7 races, not the team

even if you did have 3 laps on reserve its RESERVE fuel why would you bank on that and use it instead of just saying "switch to reserve when you're out and box as soon as you can" whether it be that lap or the lap after depending on where you are on track. i don't understand why you would want to run it dry.

Being out 1/6 of the season is going to put any team behind the 8 ball. I think this will light a fire in all of them and make them as hungry as ever.

I think the 9's season has plenty of failures all the way around. Isn't going to matter anyway--JGR is going to win the championship this season.

Nascar racecars don't have fuel gauges it's against regulations it's up to the crew chief to keep track of fuel mileage and levels.

Say a star QB used to race motocross, that wouldn't excuse him for a "freak accident" if he's playing around on a dirt bike during or right before the season starts. NASCAR is a sport just like the NFL and absolutely no different. Cars run out of fuel all the time, it's racing. He could have raced 7 more times and easily made the cut had he limited dangerous fun to the off season.

I have defended AG all the back to when he was Gordon's CC but this was a complete embarrassment... there has to be a change made this offseason by Hendrick. With that said, this MUST win race was lost in qualifying... you couldn't start 15th at the Glen in this year's race and win... wasn't happening... No one could pass.

I love it when people look at instances like this, which suck yeah, but then male the ridiculous hop to "if not for this, he'd have won." No, he wouldn't have in all likelihood. Unless more fuel somehow equals a faster car with a winning setup, but it doesn't. And even then mechanical failure, crashes, flat tire, overtime laps...etc etc. Yeah, this likely made a win practically impossible but a driver still needs a fast car and on-point driving, as well as a little luck to win any race. Regardless Chase has screwed himself more than anyone on this team, so yeah... .. .
