MD500 aka AH-6 attack chopper code name
“Little Bird”
I waited a very long time for this little bird (pun intended) and I’m very much pleased with it. It is a scale flyer, so no 3D. However the esc and the receiver have room for expansion (maybe it can be bound to a higher grade transmitter for 3D flight?) This copter flys on a 2s battery that loads behind the nose. And it flew for me for atleast 18 minutes (didn’t see voltage warnings or low voltage beeps) motors were cool to the touch after brisk high rates flying. Following specs include:
Twin brushless motors, direct drive main brushless motor, carbon innards hold the esc and receiver. The cyclic swash plate and main rotor driver are metal/aluminum and the rotor hubs are made of quality hard plastic. I think RC Era has redeemed themselves on this one, for anyone who has had quality issues with their copters before. Truly a great helicopter and for something with out optical flow, it is locked in even with 5 mph breezes.
