AL how about a ladder on the end with the same hook together brackets as the rest of the dock? Then you can remove it and put it in the shed when you’re not using it. 😉👍

That dock is going to be super fun on hot days. You can catch some of those fish too. God bless stay safe and cool. Al you all did a good job on the deck. Maybe add a short ladder to make it easy to get back on the deck. How's that cold spring water feel? Bet it takes some getting use to.. love Lumnah acres. Great way to start our day. 🇺🇸♥️🌹

suggestion: pea gravel or tumbled river rock to walk on up to the doc, it won't stick to feet (like mud) and won't hurt your feet like regular gravel. Play hard, job well done!

Those screws will end pulling out because of all the movement, you need to use bolts & nuts.

Yes he's using the wrong type of screws, they will ether brake off or pull out.

Great dock Al ! ... I would put some type of ladder on it to be able to get out of the water easier...! ( Especially for the ladies !! ) Here in NC... it is so hot , that water looked so refreshing !!! Tell Gina its her turn to dive now !!

If you find the gap between the two dock pieces is a problem you can create a flex joint cover using rubber. If you have any of those stall mat chunks left it might work. Our dock we also had to put traction dock paint on the main gangways to prevent slips. Good design. I like it.

Indoor outdoor carpet works well also. And it is comfy on the feet too.

Add some through bolts and nuts instead of just lag bolts. The constant movement of the dock will loosen those lag screws over time.

You said about using the tractor to move the extension into the water, next I saw Gina pushing it. I am not sure my wife would have pushed it into the water if I suggested she was interchangeable with a tractor! Still, the project did what you wanted, and I can see fun days ahead. I am no longer so clever on moving platforms, age took a toll, but I can see you already having fun.

Gina was the one that said that she thought Al could push it into the pond by hand instead of the tractor and so she wanted to try it and it worked!

hi, I notice that when you walk on your dock it rocks a lot, what I advise you to do is to install two iron rods at the end of your dock and screw them to your dock so that your dock will hardly move anymore

Glad you are checking out canning, Gina. If you like you can can a lot of your freezer meat before you make your move, with a pressure canner. I am using mine for the first time this season and going wild canning chicken, ground/chunked beef and pork. I even canned 100 lbs of potatoes for winter soups and stews. Thanks for sharing so many nice recipes.

What a great reward for the work you’ve put in! That will be a focus of enjoyment for years. I’ll agree with others , a small ladder on the side, will add a lot. As you move rocks around, consider leaving a couple in place and build your goat pen around them. Give the goats a play area also. This was a great visit; Al being a kid, and Gina looking great relaxing on the dock!

Hello Al, Gina, & Olivia! The sun flower's pretty. Cattails are a sure sign fall is just around the corner. I love seeing the 'lil boy come out in you Al after getting your dock done. Too funny! Loved the aerial view over the pond. Looks so inviting. Peaceful. I used pancake batter for years when breading my fish, after seeing how you do yours, it's time to change. Get a nice stainless steel ladder from a marine supply store to put on the dock on the water side to get back up on the platform! Or a PVC ladder for an above ground pool! God Bless!
