This is it! The Traxxas Ultimate Hoss Build is finished! Build videos take a lot of time to complete with the filming, building and editing, but it’s finally done and this truck looks absolutely amazing. In this video, Greg installs the last of the parts that he showed in the first video, paints the body and then takes this full loaded monster 4x4 out for a fun bash run. If you have a Traxxas Hoss, this is one video you can’t miss!

Love watching your build videos dude! You know just the parts to talk about and the parts to fast forward through without going on too long. One of the very few RC channels where I actually sit and watch the entire thing start to finish and it keeps my attention. Great stuff and the truck looks sick!

Awesome build, that Hoss looks so cool, I have some paddles for my 3S Stampede but haven't used them yet, you got me excited to try them out....all the Traxxas accessories look great very cool color scheme you chose...I love it....I'm a fan of Traxxas and there accessories....maybe a super cool build with a Bandit, I feel the bandit doesn't get the attention it should...whatever you build next we will tune in...👍👍

Nice truck! I think that would be a great sand hill climber and all around open country runner! Between a set of Sledgehammers and those paddles, you have everything well covered for terrain types. I like that paint job! Thanks for the video series on this truck! :)

This is a great truck. I bought one a few months back and then recently bought the new Typhoo tlr 6s. I wish I got the Sledge which is in my head now. Doing some speed tests with the Hoss and Tlr Tyhoon and I am getting better figures with the Hoss which is hitting 47 mph to the Tlr's 41 mph on 4s. 6s only 52 mph. Then it starts to cut power for some reason and one time the esc was blinking red. I used to own a Typhoon 6s v5 last year and stock I was getting between 60 and 63 mph so I am annoyed and not sure what the hell the problem is. May try to trade it for a new Sledge. This is bugging me. Hoss has been excellent and Traxxas offers just a better driving experience as a whole than does Arrrma.

Really enjoyed your Rustler 4X4 VXL build series and a few others… Thanks to this build I got paddles coming! I’m surprised that Traxxas doesn’t recommend or include thermal paste/ compound when you install the heat sink. (The heatsink for the 1/16 ERevo VXL comes with some) The only reason I ask is because my Hoss with the heatsink installed went into thermal shutdown a few times and seems to be cooked.

@dustang5.O
@dustang5.O 2 жыл бұрын
@joelendurance - I posted this in the main comment thread and copied it here to shed some light on your curiosity 😊 I have a Hoss that’s similarly built. Including the initial cost of the Hoss, you’re looking at $1,500-$2000 to recreate his Hoss shown here. The Traxxas aluminum parts and the steel CVDs are insanely expensive. Every shiny aluminum part is basically $30-$50. CVDs are $80-$90 an axle (so you need two sets). The light kit is $100. The tires and wheels are $40-$50 a set, I ended up buying belted Proline Trencher’s that were $70 a set (so you need two, again). If you’re curious if I think it was worth it and would do it again, the answer is no. The Hoss was my first RC around a year ago so I was green to the hobby. I bought a X-MAXX then two E-REVO 2.0s after the Hoss. Months of upgrading to keep them running, dumping money into them constantly, I decided to take a stab at an ARRMA. Bought the Typhon 6S, then the Kraton 1:5 EXB with Castle XLX2 + 800kV, Kraton 1:8 EXB with Spektrum electronics, Limitless running 8S, Mojave 1:7 EXB running Spektrum 8S electronics, Senton 3S BLX, then the Losi LMT roller running a Spektrum 150A ESC + 2200kV motor on 4S and a Bigfoot body. I did end up winning an auction for a Slash 4x4 but it was already tricked out with a carbon fiber chassis and censored ESC+motor so nothing important was Traxxas anymore and it’s for racing not bashing so it’s rare a part breaks. As you’ve probably already realized, once I made the swap to Horizon Hobby products from Traxxas I haven’t went back. It’s important to note that the initial cost to get an ARRMA RC has always been a bit lower and more accessible with deals/sales that Horizon runs but they do need upgrades too and M2C Racing parts to make them indestructible are a far cry from reasonably priced. I am stubborn though and refuse to sell my Traxxas RCs for a loss and refuse to let the RC beat me by becoming unusable. So I still drive my Traxxas RCs and when they break I upgrade. That’s how I ended up with a Hoss similar to the one in this video, because I broke nearly everything and upgraded anything I could as I worked on it. Strangely enough, the Hoss is my only Traxxas still running stock OEM electronics. My X-MAXX and both E-REVO 2.0’s all killed the ESCs and motors within the last year. The ESCs became unusable for one reason or another, blinking green lights and nothing working or would no longer calibrate but entered calibration each startup or just stopped turning on at all. Same with the motors, had one just completely fry and another had the shaft come loose and spin freely independently of the magnet. The receivers were all OK but I still swapped them all out for Spektrum receivers so I can have one transmitter to rule them all. As far as the servos, none of the stock Traxxas servos lasted more than 2 runs, which is to be expected I guess. I replace my servos in my ARRMA RCs too but I will say that they are far superior to the plastic geared Traxxas servos. It’s been several months since I’ve driven my Hoss.. this video has made me want to take it for a spin soon to remind myself why I made such a huge mistake.. lol 😂
