June had such a difficult delivery last time requiring pulling the calf that the vet station would be a necessity to deliver her calf safely next time. I’m so glad you stopped drinking the energy drinks! My only son died at age 29 from drinking those things. They caused him to have a cardiac arrhythmia.its been almost 17 years and we’re still in shock!

Chad, A good place to shop for all types of things for the new homestead is Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Lots of leftover construction materials, good used wood furniture, etcetera at good prices. My family has purchased and donated to this organization.

I watched Case & Grandpa and Matt, also watched Grandpa on his belly in the snow under the chicken house to rescue a chicken. Your family sure love's it's animals, How long were you waiting (trapped ) by your lovely little black/brown steer June's boy. and my eyes watered when you got knocked by the goat. I could not be a farmer.. you name your animals, raise them and have fun with them but now have to take them to auction and then knowing what will happen to the cattle at some point, I just couldn't do it. Like being a dog breeder, I would end up being a dog hoarder lol. Please keep Izzy, I like her. Great video, you seemed in great spirits. God bless.

Just cold here in MN for us, no snow. Went out today for a bit. I just added more layers and brought money to buy things I really probably didn't need. However I did buy a couch for $10 in really good shape. Love Salvation Army. I so enjoyed just seeing Case out and about with his uncle and grandpa Your an amazing family with awesome roll models. Chad, glad you got hot water! We went 4+ weeks with no gas boiler in our old farm house, originally company thought it was needing parts which were ordered, but failed to look deeper into the unit and see that there was more damage than could not be repaired. So switched to another local private contractor, took time to get unit and install, got it running just before, Christmas. Then my car needed a complete exhaust system replaced, including the good old catalytic converter. The car is a 2009 Kia, only 70,000 miles on it, I got it used in ‘13, with 57,700 miles on it, so obviously I don’t drive it much! But now it’s inspected for another year. So got hit with a big expense, but it was cheaper than getting a new car. Then the 40+yr old hot water heater went last week, so now working on getting that replaced. It’s always something, but God keeps us strong. I’m blessed with a great husband (34 years this 2/16), our 14 acre farm, with our last pony & 2 young adopted small dogs. It gets overwhelming at times for both of us, as there are things we know need fixing, but we are trusting that God is in control & we will do what we can. I’m sharing all that because as overwhelming life experiences can be, we both are blessed with the love of a spouse, you are also blessed with the love of the kids and family (neither my husband or I have that support), but again we have the love of the Lord. Once you get into your 40 by 40 & family and critters all get settled, everything will straighten out and you will be stronger for it. Love your humor, Gingerbread was a good example! Chad if you fence space at the new 40 with the trees and bush dead fallout the goats and a few pigs in it they will clean it up all the under growth and futilize the space for taking down unwanted tree cover

Moving is difficult enough without moving all of your animals. Will miss the goats but for now it makes sense. I really enjoy watching the process of farming and animals. I was brought up on an apple orchard. At least in the winter, we didn't have to be out in this weather..

I drink seltzer water plain by choice cause most the flavors have an after taste now i have had the Liquid Death and it is good. Way to go on staying away from the caffeine i had to give it up in 06 i still miss my coffee. Have a good night and may your days be blessed

We have barns with metal sides. One barn had one side of it that was basically part of a pasture. Our 2 bulls got to fighting one day, just their usual disagreement, and one pushed the other one right through the side of that barn. Not only did we then have 2 full grown bulls out loose we had a barn with a huge hole in the side of it.

I would suggest paying somebody to clean up the rest of the mess sooner than later for your mental health and then it'll be done and then you're not looking at the remnants of it anymore and it will just bear land and the sea shed that you'll see when you go past it. So it'll be a fresh start for whoever buys the property in your mind

My sister looked over at a wall and saw an outlet melting. I kept thinking her place could have burned like yours. If she had had something burnable next to it it might have happened. Turns out the builder saving a small amount of money and didn’t pigtie the wires. It also didn’t trip the breaker. Luckily an electrician came and fixed it. All I could think is what could have happened like you experienced.

Ya your right as we get older it’s getting harder in Maine staying frozen 6 to 7 months out of the year. All though the weather has changed dramatically since I was a child I have noticed it being in the single digits often down south and in the west. A lot of cold temperatures all of you are not used too and it seems to be continuing. What gets me is when it snows just a few inches everything closes because the county doesn’t seem to have snow plows to take care of snow off the roads. I think someone needs to start preparing for something bigger because its coming. To shut places down for a week at a time is unheard of in Maine. My sister moved to Tenn and they had freezing temperatures and 9 inches of snow and they have closed school and places for a week. I just think if towns were more prepared it would be better so people wouldn’t be stuck without snow tires or studded tires for ice.
