Border View Farms is a mid-sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. My name is Nathan. I make and edit all of the videos posted here. I farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. Our part-time employee, Brock, also helps with the filming. 1980 was our first year in Waldron where our main farm is now. Since then we have grown the operation from just a couple hundred acres to over 3,000. Watch my 500th video for a history of our farm I filmed with my dad.
I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. Agriculture is different from any other industry and I believe the more people that are showing their small piece of agriculture, helps to build our story. We face unique challenges and stressful situations but have some of the most rewarding payoffs in the end. I get to spend everyday doing what I love, raising my kids on the farm, and trying to push our farm to be better every year. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture.
I hope you enjoy my content and ask questions as you have them. I do my best to answer anything I can. Thanks for watching!
I appreciate you subscribing to my channel and liking my videos. You can also find me on Facebook borderviewfarms and on Instagram @borderviewfarms

The area of the bean field behind the buildings was always less productive and wetter to work back in the 1960s & 70s. I think it is better tiled now than before. The barn lights on the white metal siding really stand out!

Years ago we were combineing corn fot a neighbor, we were about 3- 400 short of making a round. He said “ It would be nice if we could make a full round”. I had to explain to him it would be if we filled up before we got that point.

Do you run your yield monitor in active yield? Have you had issues with your grain tank folding?
@BorderViewFarms
@BorderViewFarms 10 ай бұрын
Yes I'm using Active Yield and no never had an issue folding the covers on this combine. On the S680 sometimes you had to push the button a couple times to get it to go.

Do you guys have to have your moisture tester in the grain shed calibrated every year?
@BorderViewFarms

No, it's pretty consistently accurate. We usually compare with an elevator sample

Why do u not cut your beans at an angle. Instead of straight with the rows
