Yeah, finding Hildir is "random", but at least after that, you know where to look for dungeons. A tunable wishbone that helps you to find more than just ore would be a great addition too.

@@NickRawcliffe That wasn't just an idea, that's actually in the game. I'm not sure if your world was bugged or if its random, but in my own world I definitely saw the two of them. They drop separate trophies too, but only one (Zil for me, although maybe just the last one killed) drops the chest

@@adam_sandler looks like he used console commands and pressed "K" to kill all enemies nearby on the tower and that caused the first boss to die you can see this because there is black metal on the floor before he opens the gates on the floors above

@@JimRiveraPerez makes sense, the second one sort of "spawns" independent when the first dies so it didn't die with killall

If you've already discovered the area then you'll either have to 1. Uncover new spots or 2. Start a new world.

I think it works both ways. It will feel like a massive waste of time maybe if you have sunk in hundreds of hours in, I can see that getting old. They should add some sort of mechanic that you can unlock that would massively help with this instead of it being removed, because I like it a little

The clothes are big for home base maintenance or building and things of the sort.

You've always been able to plant berry bushes. It's a console command.

If you haven't explored the area it will still spawn, but only in those areas. It wont spawn them in the part of the world you have explored already

The new content is added to all maps. Only caveat is that the additional content won't be added to any place you already visited in your world : it can be found only in locations you did not explored yet

what is beyond in your opinion? because to me it's the same lazy approach like all other survival games that don't bother creating living world. Instead, you have just few static spawns and empty world without much to do.

@@tutkarz There are many things. I think the building is very well developed, with the addition of the support/gravity aspect added to it. The story and combat is simple, yet engaging, giving a good balance between a straight building and adventure. The biome stages gives you something to work for. The updates they keep working on between larger releases. There is also something intangible, that I can't explain.

@@ismlamaroof6438 I'm sure there are many players that enjoy this game but for me it lacks depth, living world, competition, reasons to build buildings and explore the world, no civilisation, nothing. Thats why I said it's not different for me than all other simplistic survival games. True survival revolution is still ahead of us. Valheim is far from it.

@@tutkarzI agree with you and disagree. I hate to be that guy that says the game is held back by lore restrictions but the game doesn’t really feel alive because it’s the afterlife? Valheim is kinda purgatory for our characters. There so much lore and story in the rune stones, our dreams, and the history and fates of the mobs really build the world. Seeing Thor going through the sky and Odin really immerse you. Out of all the survival games I’ve played valheim is the only one that balances story and gameplay really well. It would be cool to see civilizations but in the context of the game has built it wouldn’t work. Maybe they could add a Valhalla update that could maybe act as like the nether in MC and have “civilization” there. As for the game right now it’s very immersive which is all I need to feel like Valheim exists like Witcher or red dead. Valheim is certainly doing it’s own thing.

If I would like to read interesting stories, I would just open any book and find waaaay more interesting stuff there. That's why I never understood why people insist on this in games. Also games where some text was enough to satisfy players were popular 30 years ago. Now I demand from devs way more. I demant to be able to write my own story, that's why I expect to have living world with rich sandbox elements so I can decide what will happen. And considering how much money Valheim took from players it's outragous how little they delivered. Sure there will be players who will enjoy this and I'm ok with that. What I don't like is when such players are defending such shallow game saying it's enough. No, it's not.

I totally agree. You go to all that effort, only to be rewarded with clothing that I would never use because I just wear armour. I guess its cool for those hard-core role players. Hopefully they add items that are useful for the rest of us too.

at this point, there's likely dozens upon dozens of Vaheim RP servers and, in a game that focuses just as much on building and creating your own spaces as it does monster slaying, it makes sense they'd add stuff to supports that part of the player base.

An idea would be that equipping or putting fancy clothes on an armorstand increases rested bonus, would be cool if they did.

Public tests can be unstable and the update perhaps changes. I would recommend to make a backup, but then you should be riskfree

@@frederikburghardt1013 thanks for the reply. yeah i made a backup. i'm assuming when the official update comes out, i need to go into the steam settings and manually opt out of the beta, and my save should work as normal. i already found hildir's camp in my previous world. it didn't take much time, i just had to sail to a new island and walk around some large meadows. now i have a lot more to do, as she gave me several locations all across the map to go to.

Are you playing in the playtest, which is where the content discussed in this video is, or was it the latest update to the main game that isn't working for you? I have about 24 mods on my main game, and as of yesterday, most, but not all had updated. Three of them, FunGuy Fury, Torc Neclaces, and Valheim Cuisine were preventing my world from loading at all. I'd get stuck on the purple loading screen with the troll on it, and it would sit there forever. Valheim Cuisine updated 6/16/23, so I'm back to playing. Found out today that Valweed isn't stopping me from loading, but whenever I smoke, I get an out-of-body experience or the game grinds to a complete halt, and the console spits a ton of errors. Which is a shame, I liked that for the stamina regen boost. What I did, was make a local copy of my save file, and archive that in a zip file to protect it. Then I update all the mods I could, and then in the thunderstore mod manager, I would click on the version number of the mods that I had. this loads their webpage, which says when they were last updated. This let me identify which ones haven't updated. Then I turned off all the un-updated mods, and added them back in, one by one, loading the character and loading the world. Those that wouldn't let me load the world, I turned off and left off until they updated. then I went around testing things, once I had everything that would load, loaded. That's how I found that another mod wasn't working. Hope that helps.

It's an extremely small team and, yes, they are very very slow at releasing content. Major update once a year.

Some people want the challenge of 'no map'. . .personally I get lose even in the area my base half the time so no thanks. As far as skill loss on death, while I agree lore wise for the game it doesn't make sense, its a fairly normalized game mechanics that dying = losing something. Since skills are the equivalent of exp. . . I think full skill loss is. . . too much for me to deal with. but I've never minded the lower skill cost of a death since most of the time the death is my fault, and playing solo those skills ramp back up pretty quickly.

People are underestimating how insanely hard valheim is without a map. To me, that sounds almost impossible.

Sounds like just another day to any DayZ player. Most of those guys use a cell-phone app for a map.
