I would suggest that it’s worth considering having a conversation with guests to not be too unkind to the callers. I usually feel that it is lighthearted and the guests seem to feel as though they’re in on it. I did not feel the same with this guest. It honestly put me off on wanting to take a shot at being a caller because I would feel disappointed to call into such a great podcast with a great crew to then feel a little bullied by a guest. I’m far from sensitive (although this comment won’t read that way) but it’s worth considering these people aren’t calling in to have someone genuinely be rude to them.

I feel like some guests miss the "we're on the caller's team no matter what". As Jake has said before, the caller is the catalyst not the guest.

Well your guest this week was disappointing. Her view on mental health is very upsetting. You'd leave the moment you hear the diagnosis? As somebody with mental illness im so glad my wife stood by my side like a real partner does and helped me through it, as id do the same for her. I love Jake and gareth but she was awful.

I love the issues people call in with. The second one was so specific. Equally hilarious and mortifying. My family would absolutely just say “woah, don’t do that, doesn’t look right from this angle” and laugh about it. The fact that they let it go on for so long is what’s making it awkward. 😂

Yeah, that's disgusting. On one hand it's not a new persons responsibility and if it's the very start of the relationship they have a right to know if they want to take things further, but if you're in a committed relationship and mental health issues arise it's a very shallow move to just dip. Annie comes of as incredibly shallow and self serving, I'm not a fan.

That’s what made me mad too. I have adhd and autism, imagining someone walking away just because of that is really lame. But Annie is hot, so she’s allowed to have that attitude. It’s a hot girl syndrome

To be fair, we don't know what the mental health issues are. It's fine to be someone's partner & support them until it becomes too much, then people are totally allowed to walk away to protect their own mental wellbeing without needing to feel guilty.

First caller: I don’t see a problem with coming clean at some point or the next time it’s brought up. Just say “I didn’t want to have to explain what he put me through so it was easier to say he died.” I appreciate people who don’t shit on their exes early on in a relationship (friendship or romantic).
