Just me who feels sorry for Greg? Seemed like a decent guy, got on well with staff and customers and he actually did more work than the other 2 owners despite never being an original owner, it's a shame he had David and brain as partners

Gordon was absolutely right about david. After this he went back to the old menu, and even sold the lobster machine. He was the ultimate downfall of black pearl

There's a Neapolitan slang which basically says that if you try to wash a donkey's head you waste water and soap. Couldn't be more suitable for this

Yelp reviews after filming are mostly negative with complaints over the quality of the menu dishes. David had an extremely long rant about Gordon in a letter allegedly from all three owners, blaming him for the 50% drop in sales.

Greg has got guts, I think with a bit of training and some polish he could have gone very far. He's very approachable but he's got an iron core and never say die attitude.

When you study Steven's personality from this episode and then discover that he's a film director today doing some great work, you realise that being nice and cordial really takes you far in life. You need to learn how to take criticism in order to become successful.

I can appreciate that even though the food wasn't good quality, that didn't hold back the kitchen from keeping everything properly clean and put away like most episodes.

David didn't want Gordon to succeed with his new menu-how ironic was that -all the staff loved it as well as the customers but it appeared that David intentionally and perhaps maliciously, possibly out of jealousy refused to acknowledge. He was so offended by being told the truth and his ego got hurt. Some owners are in the wrong career.

Totally infuriating episode. Shame the production company couldn’t sign a wager preventing these jokes of owners from plundering all the good will money they spent renovating the restaurant.

Nothing brings me more joy when Gordon calls a spade a spade with no BS. It's so satisfying.

I will never forget when I was at a food court one time, and a long-haired woman angrily took her Asian food back to the place because there was a (long) hair in it. The look on the bald chef’s face as he made eye contact with the bald server was priceless.
