My Honda Dominator 650 is a great Motorcycle! I have been everywhere on this bike, in 4 years over 50.000km all over Europe and I even shipped her overseas to Iceland to go on a great adventure with me, where all the big BMW GS riders envied us cause riding off road and through rivers and volcanic sand was the easiest thing in the world on the Honda. 33 years old and still kicking. It always got me where I wanted to go and still does. Whatever I may ride or not in the future, I’m always going to keep this motorbike because you should never give away your first🤗
Also, big fat Boat ride today…I love ferry boats! Hello Estonia 🇪🇪

Hello Marc. I still have my first motorcycle. A 40 year old Guzzi California 2. It went up to the North Cape in 2006 and today it continues to roll like clockwork and with 350,000 km and without any problem. I also have a 2017 California 1400 Touring that doesn't give me the same sensations as the old one. Long live the carburetors

Not bad? It's 30yrs old and running, while being used like it should have 30yrs ago.....that's a legend, no matter what happens after today's first start. It deserves a full on party when it gives its last ride!!

congratulations for the videos. I'm Brazilian and your travels inspire me to keep going and discovering new places. I already had a 1997 Honda Sahara (I regret having sold it, but life goes on), smaller sister of his Dominator, today I have a Yamaha XT 600 2002. Soon I will travel over 8 thousand kilometers through Brazil. Good winds to you. to the next.

You're right Marc, don't sell the Honda. I sold my Honda SLR650 a few years ago and have always regretted it. It wasn't my first bike that was a 1963 Triumph Tiger Cub, but it was certainly one of the best. Once you have sorted your cam chain tensioner your Honda will run forever, they're great motors. I do about 15,000-20,000 kms a year on my old Suzuki GN250 and if treated well these old motors just keep going and going. Keep inspiring me man, I love it.

Your right Marc 👍 we need to hang on tight to the the things we love the most. I also have a great Honda I would hate to sell. I’d be ok adding another bike but I don’t want to sell my HONDA. There's a song i heard when i was younger that had a bit that stuck in my head and it go's like this, you don't own possessions,, possessions own you. As to the bike thing I'm 57 and have owned a lot of bikes, cars and vans, 70+ bikes that i can remember, from old brits to the latest 200+ mile an hour rocket but a couple of years ago i bought a ccm 644 to run around on wile my big bike was being repaired as it was cheap fun but with in 6 month's i stopped riding every thing else and kept going strait to the ccm as its so easy to ride and i found i always have a smile on my face when i get off, whether its whet or dry, warm or cold, and like your domi its easy and cheap for me to repair for my self, so stick with it and maybe teach your girl to ride and by hear an old honda xl to ride with you.

You are definitely getting more riding in than most people. Inspired by your travels, I'm taking my Dominator on a 3800KM ride starting tomorrow, for about 3 weeks. My 1st bike was a 1973 Honda CB 350 twin, don't have it any more but got a 1973 350 four a few years ago. It's a fun bike to ride too, but I wouldn't take it on any long journeys.

It's not? I think motorcycle are still pretty reliable, just like the old ones, specially if properly cared for... What I find is that most modern bike owners want to spend less in maintenance and prefer to sell them early. Especialmente aqui em Portugal onde as motas com mais de 50k o pessoal já não quer comprar ou querem de borla xD

When I was younger I bought and sold motorcycles every 4 years on average, now I am a lot older I became more attached to my bikes. Due to a change in life styles I sold my old 1999 Kawasaki ZX600, fortunately to my god daughter, who has no interest in bikes but it kinda keeps it in the family, but I have kept my 2005 Suzuki DR 650 that was my courier bike for 9 years and clocked up nearly 500,000 kilometres, and I also have my 2014 DR 650 with just over 300,000 kilometres. They have no monetary value but have sentimental value to me because of the time spent riding them and they did not cost a great amount when purchased new, I still prefer to ride my 2014 DR over my Yamaha T700 and hopefully will send one of my DRs over to Europe from Australia next year to do some exploring over there. The thing I love about my DR is it was cheap to buy, cheap to service, not overly heavy and was not overly expensive to modify to the way I wanted the bike, you don’t have to spend a fortune on buying a motorcycle just buy one that suits your budget, and that is not just the purchase price but the on going cost of maintenance, tyres, chains, brake pads and so on. The old Dominator will keep on going if you find a good mechanic who knows about older bikes not technicians who know electronics.

Hi Marc, great job, love the channel. I had a new NX650 Dominator in 1989 when they first came out. Toured France and Spain and still have some great memories all these years on. However I think my backside has only just recovered, as I remember the seat was pretty uncomfortable! You've got me searching the "bikes for sale" websites for another one, but they were always rare in the UK and virtually impossible to find a good one now. I still have the genuine Honda workshop Manual for the bike, so if there is any technical information you need just let me know.👍 Stay safe.

Still missing my first bike ( 93‘ XT600 ). Got her when I was 18 and cranked the creamy shits out of her ( slipstreaming 185km/h on the A5 every day) For the last 6 month on our journey I’ve converted her into a SuperMoto. Regrettably I sold her when my budget got too tight to keep her. That sucked immensely . Today I own a R1200GS. It’s not the same . I’m not 18yo anymore, I guess

I had to sell my first motorcycle, because I was still going to university and broke, but still wanted to get something fast :D I really regret selling my second motorcycle, which I sold because of a gearbox failure and still being kinda (less) broke. That was 15 years ago, today, I would try and fix that bike, but well, in the end you're always wiser ;) I now keep my 2005 Kawasaki Z750 which I rode for the last 15 years besides my new Ninja 1000SX, because sentimental value. I had so many adventures with that bike, used it as a daily driver for some time, took it around europe, took it to the track, just good times. And it never ever broke down. Just had one small crash, but appart from that I only did maintenance. So yes, keep your Honda, and if she every breaks down, you at least have something to do over the winter ;)

Marc. So glad that the world of Planet Honda is going well at the moment. As you said you do more miles in one month than most people do in a year. Your bike does really well. Promise me when you get back to Berlin that you don't take it back to the same place as before. I still think crowdfunding a proper overhaul with a proper Honda dealer is the way to go. Then you know all parts will be good.

Hi Marc, good video, some shots really very nice 👍 And if I can go to the bike, don't fix it anymore, her time has come, she gave her best and now it's time for a change.... It's like with a horse, you wouldn't want to bother him until lunch time either 😉

If ever I go down a quiet country lane and stop for a pee, you can guarantee as soon as I start, the road turns into a major highway with ladies in 4x4s giving me disapproving looks.
