From my point of view, Keeso seems to have written this entire show as a love letter to old-school hockey. Several cast members are former pro hockey players and Keeso himself played Junior A hockey before turning to acting. I've also noticed about this show how much he highlights Sudbury in a positive way, which I thought was a very class thing to do, since that's where they've filmed Letterkenny since it's been on Crave/Hulu. Certain elements almost behave like a travel brochure for Sudbury. This show debuted two weeks ago in the US and I know about as many places to eat, things to see and do and events in Sudbury as I do in my own hometown.

Shoresy and Nat have a great relationship in this show, very much like brother and sister. Even with all their disagreements, he’ll say things like that to keep her spirits up. The running theme of the show of it’s not about winning, it’s about hating to lose. That’s why Shoresy respects her. They both know you can’t win them all, but it’s about instilling that “hate to lose” mentality into the players. Her promising to fold the team if they lose again is the same mentality that Shoresy has. “If you can’t win, don’t play”. That being said, Shoresys way of implementing that was to provoke the other team into a fight that would result in them having to forfeit the game 🤣🤣

Only when that person (sorry, I didn’t look hard enough for your comment) mentioned it did I notice. What is really interesting is that in a way, Shoresy accidentally sets in motion the events which will bring the team together (bar fight, street fight, Hockey fight, trust in Sanger) that is worth 2 wins but also inadvertently leads to the final games missed by JJ due to the hockey fight recording and attention he is given by the model.
