Yes! Be unique-who cares what the experts say Doug. I've always watched because I enjoyed whatever you and your wife were up to. I remember one of my favorites were you and your wife on a day hike. It was beautiful- so congrats on being the legal owners of your home place. That is wonderful. Have fun-we will be here and would love to revisit your old videos!

Doug, I did a tour in Nam in the Marines. I learned quickly that you are not promised a tomorrow. So do what you have to do in life but make sure you take the time to do what makes you happy as well. Congrats on owning the property. I am sure you will continue to enjoy it. Thanks for bringing us along.

Back in the 50's, my folks rented a small farm - Dad tried to buy it from the owner, but he was not ready to sell. He didn't sell it until the 70's -by then Dad no longer lived in the area, -time and circumstances had changed for our family. Over the decades, I have gone back to that farm every time I am in the area, asking permission to roam the woods behind the barn and up by the apple orchard. The surrounding land is now a city rural park, willed by our former landlord, with horseback trails and wild camping the major attractions. But the ashes of my parents and my brother have been scattered up by the old apple orchard. I haven't been back since 2011. I need to go once more before I die. That little farm has always been "home" to me.

Doug...Like ALL your previous videos - I LOVE your videos!!! It reminds me of my childhood and my explorations of the neighboring wild areas!!! I will NEVER EVER forget all the wonderful times we had playing and remembering them-and I'm ONLY 80 years old!!! What a fantastic memory I have of enjoying playing with my school friends and neighborhood kids enjoying nature and life!!! THANKS SOOO MUCH FOR ALWAYS REMINDING ME OF HOW FORTUNATE I HAVE BEEN TO ENJOY THESE MEMORIES AS COMPARED TO TODAY'S KIDS IN THE U.S. AND OVERSEAS!!! MAY THE GOOD LORD ALWAYS BLESS YOU AND ALL OF YOUR FAMILY!!!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

Such a beautiful place to grow up in and to now own that fantastic wood/forest, wow. Doug, just be Doug, do whatever makes you happy, we’ll be alongside to watch your adventures (if that’s alright with you). You have been such an inspiration to me and I’m sure to hundreds of others with your carving knowledge, camping trips into the bush (that I especially enjoy)and equipment advice. I’m in the south west of the UK and, watching your videos I have been taken to a part of the world I’ll never be able to travel to. Thank you so much.

Welcome Back! I caught the live stream with you and your wife and was so glad to see you back after your little hiatus. I love your new format what ever makes you happy is perfect! I want to Thank you for being here, I bought my first set of carving knives and my first set of palm gouges several years ago. They just sat on my work bench for two and a half years because I had no idea where to start ! then I got on the internet and searched wood carving and found your "Carve a 4" Little Man" video and I was hooked. Besides learning to carve you also gave me the inspiration to try doing my own things using the technics you showed us. So the biggest "Thank You " I can muster and I can't wait for your new adventures. New Subscriber
