I can solve your problem, well this one problem. Put the XX4 into a box, send it to me. Now in all seriousness, I have too many cars as well, and a backlog of cars waiting to be finished. I literally have no more room for them, but I keep finding more an usually at good prices which compounds the issue. Good video as always.

We collectors can have some issues with too many! I am nearing the 200 kits mark myself and need to slow down but I have another 4 or 5 coming from Buyee soon and will be getting a couple new releases soon as well. I am not sure I can stop at this point. Feeding the RC channel has grown into an obsession!

Don’t be hard on yourself I see what you are, you’re a great fella who is generous too a fault and shows off your collection which is in a positive way not ‘yeh I’ve got this and you avnt and I’m better and bla blah blaaaaaa’. It’s great to see you and your collection and makes me feel great seeing what you’ve got and (in a positive way) the pit falls and failures that you show us cos it’s not a cheep and easy hobby x. Check out Moto Obscura for their alloy servo mount, front bulkhead and shock tower braces (you're gonna need at least one for that v1 front shock tower lol). There are belt tensioners on the inside of the front belt cover which you really don't need, especially if you can get a hold of a set of quality belts, 3 belts total. Good luck!

Carl the losi cars that were made then were awesome and probably some of the best on the market. The biggest problem is parts you can probably find in hem on someplace like ebay, but the hey will be really expensive.

they aren't that bad. Tough Belts make repo belts, JC Racing makes stronger front arms and repo wheels. Moto-Obscura makes some trick parts for it too. There's anumber of companiess making repo bodies. There's also a way to retrofit 22-4 steering to it for added durability.

Last point try loosening all your screws 1/4 turn on all chassis screws evenly you don't want to be tight don't go more. Thread lock neccasary in metal, chassis bolts only not shock mounts, try you will be surprised

i agree lurgy1 there is worse in life like paying £25 for M07 stabiliser set I wont eat for a week. For my M08r. But carls hard working in it, doing his best to make a community we know we are a minority, I really like Carl and Mark if it wasn't for them that cupboard was closed so thanks

A very capable car for revival, Nathan Ralls or Rob Fox will be able to help with parts set up advice ect. I hit a number of cars, and have a cull, ive only so much room and time to give them 😂

Motor mount screws tight sorry should have said that were looking for flex everywhere else except shock mounts trying to twist the chassis from inside out. Which does mean reducing slop at the corners you might need 3x5 shims on wishbone pivots the flex has to come from the chassis if that makes sense. You can do it. Schumacher used to have different hardness wishbones just for this but believe me you can do it for free

XX4 is a great bit of kit. The easiest 4WD of the period to be competitive with, and reliable too. I Ran one at the Euros, at my only appearance. Preferred to drive the Predator, always felt it was faster but when I felt I couldn't afford potential reliability failures, I opted to borrow a XX4. Just drop it out of the pit bag, and it'll be 90% everywhere!

A real F1 car flexes more than suspension if you ever had a pair of addidas trainers with a torsion bar you can run round a corner without sliding out shocks aren't everything

I enjoy the variety of your content but.. Biggest problem with too many cars is you probably never reach your full potential as a racer... I think both of you suffer from this I'm sure with some focus you'd become the man to beat with your Tamiya mini and Mark could definitely be up there with his buggy.... But then would you get board and loose interest???? The Struggle is real I guess 😉

Build/refurbish whichever one will next be likely to be used. The 6 wheeler won’t be raced for a while yet by the sounds of things. If the opportunity to do a F1 race cane up and you didn’t have the F104 built you’d miss out. The M chassis are spares so not required and the refurbishment is if you want to delve into the XX4 stuff.

FF Racing and Rob Fox are your go too's for old Losi stuff. Or just give it to me, I'd gladly take it 🤪. The XX and XX4 are great cars. Both run in the most modern class at the Iconic Revival's as they date from the mid 90's, and they are what I have run at all the Revival's since the first one. You'll likely need a new set of belts in the XX4 as the perish but everything else looks ok so shouldn't need too much work to get it race ready. There are also conversions to run modern 12mm hex wheels so you can run the same wheels as you would on the Schumacher or Associated modern buggies you guys have.

Think about flex in the chassis like McLaren do. Tamiya is stiff stock, team ass stiff stock loosen up all chassis screws then the car pulls on entry but flys out try if I'm wrong I'm wrong

Carl same boat as you my wife says when you go you can't take them with you. F103 is fantastic for a beginner with access to an outdoor asphalt track they are so simple to maintain and was my first car because they were cheap. Setup was limited which meant close races and they really teach you how to drive. Wheels and tyres can get sold fast and in my experience quite hard to find and pricey that's my only hangup I'm sure people are nodding their heads right now. M chassis is super easy because you can scrub tyres to lose corner speed. Lewis Hamilton raced rc before he got into a go kart I wonder what class he trained. My opinion start M05 go to F1 then touring or buggy . Your trying to learn to not throttle. That Losi had it's day against stiff opposition in my opinion they gave up or lost engineers. Look where the motor is that's a serious clue.

@PopalongRC it's like this. All hobby youtubers are demonstrating and promoting this sort of "collector mindset" which 1) is weird, and 2) didn't used to exist. But it just sort of happens because the youtubers are constantly being sent things to review, and it benefits the youtuber if their viewers are "collectors" too by buying all the stuff. If your case I think you're just always cycling RC racing topics to maximize your viewship. But I find pushing this collector mindset pretty pathetic, even if you're just flailing about trying to maximize views. Its frustrating as a viewer who likes one specific kind of RC racing, and rc racing is a hobby where you should specialize to get as good as you can. In summary, I don't think there's anything else you can do to make it as a youtuber, but it doesn't make you any less pathetic for the reasons stated above. And you will have to learn to live with my critical comments on every video because I have to speak out about the truth.

why keep buying and wasting money on TAMIYA then 🤔 . Threre are far Better RC'S out there than TAMIYA . 🤔 🤔 . Get some higher quality RC cars that are not tamiya 🤔 🙄 . Get something from at least from the likes of 8th scale HOBAO RACING 🤔 🙄 , some higher quality RC'S , from their ELECTRIC range of 8th scale RC'S , like the VT track car or VS2 race buggy , or even their GT on road rally car 🤔 🙄 .
