Any pretense that Republicans were happy to stop at state-level abortion bans, or even that abortion bans are really about protecting "unborn life" no longer hold up in the broader context of attacks on birth control and an apparent lack of concern about the negative health effects on women of abortion restrictions and vague antiabortion laws and threats. Afterwards, there was microscopic afterbirth tissue stuck inside the uterine wall, and i almost went septic. What saved me was a D&E, which is the most common procedure for abortions. Thus procedure is obviously used for other women’s health issues. It saved my life, but now is banned … well, you know. Trump attempts to DEMONIZE NE by accusing women lije me OF HAVING AN AFTERBIRTH ABORTION. Is HE an OBGYN? WHY are we letting him make these decisions? My son was STILLBORN. NOT ABORTED! He was loved and very much wanted. Now women are being refused this basic procedure and DYING. WHAT are we going to do about this?

They keep us paid just enough to barely get by, so we are too desperate to rise up and riot. Child care is so expensive, how can many women effect change when they are stuck with caring for children. Our country is dangerous, I wouldn't take my children with me to even a seemingly peaceful protest. Our country is so large, it is difficult to organize. Women here need to take a look at the 4B movement in South Korea and take notes.

Ralph Northam, a pediatrician, described situations in which parents would choose palliative care for newborns with fatal congenital conditions (including those born alive in the course of a medical abortion) and he transformed it in his sick mind into "abortion after birth" and the choice to "execute the baby." the term sounds stupid because it is (it contradicts itself), and was a rebranding. referenced in ONE solitary article. it (what the term is used to describe) is considered infanticide or child euthanasia, but was only used in cases of severe physical abnormalities, incurable conditions, extreme pain, etc. often, conditions which were not fully or even partially detected in the womb.

Allowing an infant or a child who has a terminal illness to die peacefully and with dignity is no different than allowing an adult to do so. It’s called Palliative Care which is a form of treatment and generally Hospice is involved.

The distinction is the existence or not of a national law. Roe allowed abortion without requiring a national law to explicitly make it legal. The overturning or Roe makes national abortion default to state laws unless and until a national law is passed. Congress could have passed a national access to abortion law at any time after Roe or even now. It is my personal hope that we can fix the fundamental flaws of lack of representation in Congress, such as updating the number of the house of representatives with population, welcoming the new states of PR and DC should they choose to pursue statehood, and fundamental voting rights protections and enforcements with abolishment of the winner take all systems, along with real campaign finance reform and the overturning of arguably the worst SC ruling in history of Citizens United that have all resulted in the disconnect between the population of the US and Congress/leaders we have today.

Courts in the U.S. legal system place a high value on making judgements based on consistent rules in similar cases. I was probably worse than anyone with voting for the GOP. I moved on from my former party in 2022. It's taken some time to realize it, but I truly feel emotionally lifted. I was always angry but didn't know why. My grandchild asks me "Pappy why you don't talk to us anymore". I didn't have an answer, until I was watching FOX news, while everyone else was laughing and enjoying each other. I realized in that moment; I was allowing strangers to dictate what love and decency meant. I cried for weeks and had to apologize for my actions and/or lack thereof. I'm voting "BLUE" all the way this year. I even enjoy the cookouts again!!!

Before birth control my cramps and bleeding was so bad I couldn’t leave bed to go to school, it hurt to leave my bed to use the rest room the cramps were that bad. But if I brought up that was the reason some of these crazies wouldn’t listen to me

I've been on birth control for 18 years and it's never caused me any side effects. I just switched mine to a lower dosage because my husband got sniped and I just don't want to have a period so I haven't had a period in ....7 months now. It's been great

My niece was the same way. I am actually only a few years older than her, so it was my first time hearing that could happen. Birth control at 13 was her savior. I also later found out that my mother suffered a similar issue often - once bleeding for three weeks straight. In my case my periods were irregular and extremely light for years until I got on birth control. So many different reasons why birth control should be accessible for all!

I don't understand why younger men aren't absolutely terrified by this idea . Someone needs to tell men between the ages of 14 and 25 that eliminating hormonal contraception doesn't mean that women will have the two or three children that Republicans and theocrats want white women to have. It means women will have seven, 10, 15, 18 children. Someone needs to remind young men that there is no job in this country that will pay them enough to support a female romantic partner who could be pregnant and nursing for 20 years of her adult life. I get that there are a lot of young heterosexual men who love the idea of women being economically and culturally dependent on the approval of men. But they need to understand the cost to them if men control what contraception women have access to. I don't know any married man with kids who has any interest in being in charge of the birth control.

They won't give you one until you are in your 30s or already have kids.. I tried in high-school cuz I did not want kids ever.. I made sure to use protection every time, and talked about my not wanting kids and only dated women who also did not want kids and used birth control.. only took a couple lies and a pin, I have a daughter, and absolutely no control over my reproductive rights. She got baby fever and I got child support payments.

There’s a flaw in your argument. Not all men oppose abortion. Not all women support it. While controlling women’s reproduction may be the reason some people oppose abortion, it’s not the reason for all. Some oppose it on religious and moral grounds, for example. Don’t forget, one of the Supreme Court Justices who voted to overturn Roe vs Wade is a female. Framing it as merely a matter of control overly simplifies an incredibly complex issue. So too do those who argue that women who choose an abortion do so without deliberation, soul searching and emotional anguish.

As a board certified gynecologist , thanks for telling me WHY I've had more than a few Gen Z's ask me about " nonhormonal " birth control !! It takes a little more time to explain how the pill works and why it actually REDUCES risks of Ovarian & Uterine cancers. Hard to realize we are going backwards in our reproductive health .
