About Impractical Jokers:

Eric Andre is off-putting in this punishment, his type of humor is a lot more raunchy and adult than Impractical Jokers usually is, which is really saying something. He doesn't really mesh well with Sal and just makes edgy jokes.

its the one they made in one of the episodes. They mess with people then come with parade singing this song. In the end girl cries and Sal was so embarased and she was in on it, so they played it for him. This is just a reference to that episode which makes it funnier if you know about it

In my opinion this Sal punishment with Eric Andre was far worse than last time, I know that these are just pranks but I was not expecting it, I mean last Sal punishment with Eric Andre that girl was in tears not knowing that she was just an actress that cry's on command, but accidentally pouring milk on a kid was so messed up, good thing the kid was in on it but I felt so bad! Obviously the Jokers stepped it up!

In previous seasons they've done way worse just for challenges like throwing food at people who aren't in on it and having to say offensive things all the time. Saying that making Sal feel bad for making a girl cry who they paid to do so is worse than any of that is crazy.

Stepped it down more like. Part of the appeal of the Jokers has always been that they're fundamentally decent guys who WILL refuse to do certain stuff, and to even be dragged CLOSE to it was clearly deeply disturbing for them to the point that clearly they're the one suffering, not the 'mark' (which helped marks feel more like observers of someone else's weird day, than like victims of it). As the jokers become... what, desensitized? to more and more mean-spirited stuff, it becomes less funny to watch them, because now it's like they're punching down to the people around them, rather than being the butt of the jokes themselves. The less decent they seem, the less joyful it is to watch them encounter stuff. The comedian David Mitchell has a good rant about taboo-breaking, and how once a taboo is gone it's gone and that behaviour no longer even entertains. I wonder if that's related to how it gets less funny to watch the Jokers do something terrible if they're clearly game for it and grinning, versus embarrassed which shows they're struggling against a tension that still exists. There's a legitimate place for tension in entertainment, for maintaining certain boundaries. Bring down all the boundaries and, how to put it... the aquarium empties, and becomes quickly flat.
