You are focusing on too big a picture. Stop looking back. What would SHE want you to do? She would expect her knight to rise up. Throw off that shell of armour you are hiding in and walk in the sun. Sit in the park. Feel the grass. Watch families playing and clouds in the sky and drop what sounds like your marine past. THEY broke you. Walk away. Find your innocence. Forgive yourself. You have admitted your past. Time to leave it where it belongs. Let it go.
