Now that the ski season is officially over and the snow has melted off the slopes, it's time to register for your free trail pass to enjoy the unique tech & features of Spring Mountain in Schwenksville, PA, about 40 minutes from Center City Philadelphia. Spring Mountain is the old Launch Downhill Bike Park and although the lifts are no longer spinning, the trails are lovingly maintained by a group of local riders and are unlike anything else in the greater Philadelphia area. If you haven't been to Spring yet, it's definitely worth checking out if you like steep, spicy technical riding or are looking to progress on your jump & drop feature skills. There are 12 trails total and although you can definitely ride Spring on a hard tail, it's best enjoyed on a full suspension. Regardless of your bike, please keep in mind these trails are fairly technical and would not be recommended for beginners. There is a climbing trail that you take up about 350 feet to the peak where all of the trails drop in and spiderweb down the mountain. This video was taken from a short first trip if the season this past weekend, and I can't wait to get back to the gnar and hit some of the larger jumps & drops I skipped this past go round.
