The DKC series is my favorite of all time, I have unconditional love for this game and while I'm really glad it is getting a definitive HD version including all levels from the 3DS port, I don't really understand the timing of the announcement, 7 months prior to its release ? Why so early, that's strange for a simple hd port of a quite old game now (although I've been wishing for it for a long time). Also, there is a video from gameXplain that shows a comparison with the Wii version and how a lot of visual effets have been removed or toned down, I hope this is juste proof that the development of the game is still ongoing and not that it is was quickly done for a quick cash grab, especially if it is released full price.

Yeah I missed out on this one originally, but I've been wanting a new DK game and since this is new to me that kind of fill that role in that case. How would you say it compares to other DK games?

@RetrospectGames I'm a bit biased towards returns since I played it more than the originals, but I think the old country games are great and uphold well to this day. While the old country games get you immersed in its visuals and music, returns immerses you in its mechanics and gimmicks

@@MammothGamers100 It’s most comparable to tropical freeze. It has a good amount more levels than in tropical freeze, and they’re all for the most part solid levels. It’s maybe not quite as good as tropical freeze, but it’s not too far off imo.

@@John.Sharptooth Oh that sounds pretty good actually. Especially since this one still seems to have pleasant visuals overall. But yeah the OG Donkey Kong Country soundtrack is amazing.

Nintendo is getting as bad as Activision!! Recycling the same stuff over n over. Bring back the 80s when everything was new🤦‍♂😀

I mean I want a new DK game too, but there's nothing wrong with keeping old games on modern hardware. Especially when Nintendo also announced a lot of new stuff. Mario & Luigi Brothership, Zelda: Echoes of the Fallen, Metroid Prime 4, etc.
