Another great review. Here at the rental house in London where I work, there isn't a single lighting list that doesn't have aputure kit on it. Especially with their spotlight mount. (the second most popular item are CRLS mirrors). The 600's, and 1200's fly out the door faster than we can get 'em. The pack so much punch. They get more popular day by day, and NOT just on lower budget projects and 'instagram' type gigs. Just a quick not on the MT, I found that the magnets still worked fine even with the elastic covering them. Anyway, Aputure is here to stay.

Great review! I've noticed that all of aputure's lights have a problem if you're trying to fade up from 0. Which is a scenario that I often find myself in. The 1200d has great output but the low end really leaves something to be desired. 1% dim is almost equivalent to a 100w light. Overall very cool lights but they have a long way to go before I'll use them on set again.

I have a couple of these, used last weekend on a commercial shoot with CRMX in cahoots with Kino Tubes and Asteras - backed up power wise with a couple of Lion FX V mount batteries - frankly they did the job - without the V mounts attached would not have made it but with USB to V mount in my case were great, sat on floor on their stands. In this case controlled CRMX by Exalux but viewing this because I am looking at adding Blackout

We have two of these on our truck package. I am not in love with it but it has its uses. Checking the battery whilst its being controlled via CRMX seems to be a bit of a pain, my gaffer has a habit of unlinking it whilst trying to check the battery. It gets plenty of use on set though, inside fridges, oven extractors, cupboards etc. The magnets are a big help!

I just used basically all aputure lights with Asteria titans and ax5s thrown in , thru Apollo bridge with blackout . And they worked perfectly , they need to make a crmx version of the 60x as that is a very handy unit.

So a slow refresh rate gives you a more stepless dimming? How does that relate to 8 bit vs. 16 bit profiles?

When we tired the Nova P600C over CRMX there’s just a noticeable lag when responding to commands, have you tested that for the MT?

I’m just curious how the MT would be implemented into a traditional DMX setup when it requires that many channels. Would you just keep adding more universes? Would that create issues for wireless networks at scale?

I see you can hardline it thru the usb C and its $200 dose the steppy dimming happen when pixel fading along the tube ?

"like another company I know" - the only difference is, the Astera App is so bad, it is not really usable at all. I wish I could also control them with Sidus.
