😂 I was one of the concerned comments for last week. As for fish food, I am constantly worried my fish aren’t getting the most nutrition. I have guppies, otos, and a mystery snail. I give frozen daphnia 3xs a week, hikari micro pellets 2xs a week, tropical flakes 2xs a week and every day algae wafers for the otos and mystery snail. Now that I wrote it all out it would probably be cheaper for me to buy NorthFin.

Between Northfin and Extreme, my tanks are all very happy! And will always order food through Lisa and you, your videos are the reason i was able to set our first tank up correctly! And the order always arrive super fast!

I'm in Canada and pretty much every store has NorthFin foods so I'm probably gonna pick up some community pellets soon and see how my fish like it.

From one 'man of meat' to another, I follow the analogy 😅. And yeah, when the boss is working, out on the floor, it makes a big difference. It's a pride thing, I think. Cool story, man. I'll give em a try next time I'm out and about.

The biggest thing that pushed me to mainly feed northfin is their large carnivore pellets. Hikari massivore delight and carnivore pellets work great but the smell you get after feeding massivore is so bad. I have a big predator tank with bichir and large cichlids and a handful of massivore will stink up my room for hours. Northfin pellets do not stink up the water and I don't have to worry about not feeding enough to avoid the smells.

I switched from Hikari Algae Wafers to Northfin Kelp Wafers for my corydoras after comparing the ingredients. The Hikari wafers were clouding my water. The water is much clearer now with Northfin. Omega One is another brand that looks like it uses superior ingredients; whole fish varieties. That meat analogy was a train wreck.

I ordered a tub of Northfin from you guys, and if we wanna talk real, my fish didn't take to it. Not at first. Instead of giving up on it, I mixed it with Xtreme (which I also picked up from you) because that's what they had been eating. Now, several months in, I don't have to mix it anymore. They tear into it as hard as their old brand, Xtreme. Maybe harder. What makes me happy about that is, if you read the ingredients, Northfin is superior to almost everything out there on the market (that I have compared it to). Finding a fish food that the fish will eat coupled with fish food that's nutrious too is a win/win, baby!!! Whip Approved! More importantly, Whip's Fish Approved!

Hello John & Lisa, First off, your KZfaq channel gave me the comfort of knowing that I wanted to do business with KG Tropicals My first order was an order of North Fin food. Now here is the kicker, I was buying my Pleco wafers in bulk from another online store. But when I compared what was with the big bag of North Fin wafers I noticed 2 things: 1) North Fin gives me MORE wafers 2) North Fin costs LESS The baby plecos in the nursery are finishing off the old stuff, but Mom & Dad are already on a North Fin diet. Now you are right John, the first thing I did when opening the bag was take a wiff. WOW! Such a good smell! Now the fish are still finishing off the old flakes, but this video has me wanting to tear into the North Fin Community flakes and serve those up. 😂 Thank you KG Tropicals for introducing me to North Fin fish food.

I love north fin! My fish love it as well. My primary food I feed it North fin Cichlid flake. Fish go crazy for it. Oh and all I could think of is Johnnie Cakes lmao

I got so pumped I ate a bowl of 6mm NF pellets😂. All kidding aside, NF is the real deal. I just did an interview with Jeff at NF and was very impressed. They are going to get more and more popular and the challenge will become how to keep that personal touch while servicing a much bigger demand. Im lucky to live nearby a small business that makes their own fish food. Great quality, good price, and all my fish love all the food. Place is called Ken's fish out of Massachusetts. Definitely recommend. Pretty sure they supply the boston aquarium with all their food.

Now I had to go and smell my Northfin bag...lol Glad to see you so excited about Northfin foods, I know Jason from Prime Time Aquatics uses it and they are one of his channel sponsors. I always have to think, are they promoting it because they get it for free or is really as good as they say. I don't think that is the case with them, other youtubers are questionable. I'm slowly switching out to Northfin as I use up the others I have.

John, there are so many different types of food, It would be great a great video to explain the different types (maybe brand related, maybe just type) for different type of fish. I just looked at northfin in Australia (yep they are available) but picking the correct type size etc is the fun part. FYI I manly just have community fish.

I got turned on to Northfin’s Fry Food through KGT. It is the only thing I now feed my hundreds of guppy and mollie fry. The fish take to it so well that as juveniles and adults within grow out tanks, they will feed like balleen whales on the Fry Food even with flake and pellets available. Makes absolutely no sense unless the ingredients in the fry food (an extremely fine powder) is more attractive and I think it is.

I just recently started feeding north fin food to my fish because of the ingredients. A lot of brands have corn and things. And that's just a filler. The majority of my fish love it. But my galaxy and pork chop rasboras are picky and won't eat it for some reason. I can watch them just spit it out. I have to mix in a little hikari in for them when I feed their tank.

My fish said that they want to try some John meal because they want to grow beard's like yours...lol😊

👍🏻😎I recently bought several kinds of NorthFin pelletized foods (Krill Pro and Cichlid formulas) and some Community Flake as well. I also got some of the Bug Pro crisps. I'm amazed just how much better it smells than most other brands. My fish all love it and so do I. I added it in with my other brands I know and trust so my fish get a big variety of quality foods, but if I could only get one brand NorthFin would be it.

I adore the ingredient list of Northfin. However, I have major concerns over the hardness of their pellets. I lost a juvenile guppy because the pellet was slightly too big and got stuck in its mouth. It still had NOT softened/dissolved by the next day! The guppy juvenile passed away because of that! I tried some of the Goldfish pellets and they just would not soften when soaked, even for hours. I decided not to feed it because I was worried about choking and impaction. That was about 2 years ago. Not sure if anything has changed. I'd try the flakes but that bucket size would be a complete waste for me. I'd never come close to finishing it, even if I stored it in the freezer.

I had a fish shipped to me in an envelope. A pleco, in the summer. Didn't end well.

Poor analogy John😜. Look at what goes into fish meal, it isn't the fillets just everything else except if they're using small fish like herring or krill. Most fish meal goes into fertilizer anyway, especially carp and catfish offal. Know what most anchovies go into? Worcestershire Sauce, uses them because anchovies are rich in the amino acid Glutamine, the G in MSG. Woostersheer used to be called a fish sauce.

All I use if Northfin in my tanks. Best thing about it is the price is around the same as other brands. Making a premium product but charging a ultra premium price happens way to much.

I had a 10 gallon tank with a beta fish and we got a new plant. Well, that plant ended up having a snail and they reproduced like crazy. Could that have stressed the beta to the point he dident eat?

What’s the shelf life of the food? I was told months but I’ve had food last forever cause I use soooo much different varieties. I use extreme hikari I use north fin I use omega one and make my own repashy feed seeweed frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp so I don’t feed dried foods a lot and my foods last quite a long time.

Its called byproduct/ bycatch basically anuses, beaks, feathers and feet and whatever leftovers left drom fish. I am very careful with food for my cats, parrotss, rat and fish and try to find food with as less fillers as possible and high meat content as possible.
