Disappointing interview Doug. Garrett starts the interview by lambasting Airball for evaluating his worth as a person based on only a few interactions. I was screaming at you to ask him why then he can feel justified in tweeting that he is a horrible person. When discussing Robbi hand, Garrett claims no amount of evidence will change his mind. That is just an absurd statement for you to not follow up on. He then much later in the interview makes a Freudian slip that he is paranoid about rampant cheating on live streams. I now understand why he agreed to your interview, the stipulations must have been that you would not challenge or debate but just let him vent. If not, then you really missed the mark on doing a good interview.

His initial reaction makes sense. The way he's handled it since has been a joke. His 2p2 post was 95 percent baseless nonsense and in many cases outright lies. He was "spending 16 hours a day" (or was it 18?) On "the case" and still nothing. Garret also admitted to being cheated in a home game ,but agreed to keep his mouth shut in exchange for them paying him back. This is the opposite of solid. He's perfectly content with others being fucked over as long as he's fine. It's actually amazing how he absolutely torched his berry patch printing press.

Agreed,100%. I don’t agree with the PTSD part. When we gamble we know the risk, however unlikely, ppl will cheat run angles or flat refuse to pay. It goes with territory. I’m sure my opinion will catch backlash,I’m cool with it. PTSD should be reserved for victims of horrific situations & not just war zones. I won’t elaborate on the situations but we all know. Losing $$ playing cards,no matter how comes with territory. Do we really think Postle was the 1st or the last? I've seen people have full on breakdowns over silly shit I would laugh off in a second. Maybe I'm not capable of the range of emotions another person is. All that being said I'm with you in the fact that ptsd is overused by a lot of people in spots that in no way is it literally ptsd.

@@joshstevens1748 meh, seems like poker is just a game with egos. Garrett's said it's a business to him and that he's halfway out the door. It's not hard to imagine the organizer for hustler appeasing Garrett to try to keep him for as long as possible and then put the blame on him so when he walks the organizer maintains good will with the other players. He's probably a bit of a dick. Particularly if he's doing something he doesn't want to do. Airball might even pick up on that and just think that attitude is shit, or that he's an asshole. When your job is stroking egos and putting together games I can easily see shit like this popping up where everyone's working with imperfect information and can't recognize their biases

I stand behind her cheating… there are 10-15 data points that suggest strongly she did has not since. One of the cherrys on top was when interviewed she was asked why she was fidgeting, she replied with she has ADD and forgot to take her meds… no adderral ‘addict’ (as someone with ADD my feelings on methamphetamines is a separate issue) but to me that was a huge tell that she had to reply with a reason such as that when all she needed to say was she was nervous. Liars typically tend to offer irrelevant or extra information where it’s not necessary. Addrerrall junkies also would never ever forget to take their meds on a day they are playing high stakes poker as an underdog. Just one data point among others examined with more scrutiny.

The bottom line is that there's still no evidence that even approaches "beyond a reasonable doubt" that Robbi did anything wrong in that hand. Playing -EV or non-standard lines is not fucking cheating. For Garrett to continue to be this defiant, months later, by continuing to accuse her of cheating and to say that he'll never return her money, is such an incredibly bad look that it's almost beyond comprehension. There's just something off with this guy. Being a skilled and highly-profitable poker player doesn't make you a good person, and this entire situation is clear evidence of that.

Playing this game in Casinos since 2004, from the Chicago area, to Macau, to LA SD and Vegas, I have taken many breaks from months to several years long. I have always advanced more personally, professionally and emotionally when I was not playing the game. I think there are valuable lessons to learn from poker, but overall, the return on investment has a steep falloff after many years playing. There are just so many more interesting ways to make a life, make a living, and contribute in a positive and healthy way in society. Someday I dream of being the recreational player who either wins or loses playing in any ridiculous way for the one or two nights I play per year.

On top of that, Nik Airball has $500K waiting for him. He said in this interview, that he's ready to drop down from 10 hours per week of poker last year, to 5 or 10 hours a month if he comes back at all. Nobody plays only 5 hours a month if they're actually a top pro. Much less the 0 hours he's put in this YEAR.

Garrett makes a good point I never even realized, Robbie is a shell of the player she was pre-J4 hand. Her play pre-J4 was bizarre but effective because if you don’t know she’s cheating it appears to be incredibly perceptive at best or incredibly lucky timing at worst. Call it more aggressive or more creative or whatever but it’s totally gone now. Since then, and on every other stream, she’s just kind of slumped over and visibly intoxicated on wine/whatever and her play can only be characterized as below average rec play. All of the sudden her brilliant intuition and creative and bizarre plays simply aren’t there anymore.

Basically, she improved. thats not possible right? cause because she was a 10star fish 6 months ago, today she must remain a 10 star fish, and for the next 2 years she must stay a 10 star fish, cause there is just no way she self reflects and improves her game. if you have the right person around you who are good at playing poker and willing to teach you , and you do have an open mind and not a comeplet retard, you will be surprised how much u can imrpove. i am not saying she didnt cheat or she did cheat, just saying months can be lightyears in poker in 2023, with all the resources to improve nowadays.

To think ppl who are in the High Stakes scene have taken the side of some plastic fake as fk diva who came out of nowhere and who quite obviously cheated in that hand. The proof is in all her play before and after that hand! How does any halfway smart person not understand that? That’s why I just can’t respect a guy like Daniel Negraneau saying there is no way she cheated. I could understand him taking the stance of he doesn’t know but he doesn’t think she did but to sit there and say there is no way? That’s insane. I honestly think that Nick V and Ryan Feldman set Garret up and that they were cheating and are still cheating players with ppl in the game. It’s not like the ppl who were cheating are gonna come and and say hey guys I was the one they used to cheat ppl… lmfao so I don’t know I think both those guys are complete and utter dogsht ppl period.. I also don’t really like Garrett tbh he seems so fake and oh I’m such a good person blah blah blah.. It seems like such bullsht and always has. Nick V is a proven piece of sht it’s been proven 100x over that he’s scammed old grannies and ppl alike. He goes around claiming that he was a cop for 20yrs we’ve all heard em on stream talking about it and it’s all complete bullsht he was never a cop he was on some volunteer police bullsht so he wasn’t ever a fkn cop he’s always been a piece of sht scammer. On top of all this we got a worker who just so happens to steal exactly 10% of the person some of us know cheated just after the game where she cheated…. Lmfao but that’s just some coincidence! On top of all that Robbie wasn’t going to prosecute the guy who stole 15$ from her stack until ppl told her she had to because it was too obvious if she didn’t! Lmfao.. like wtf are ppl really this fkn stupid? Can they not see the bs going on here?? Lmfao wow… I think Garret was spot on I don’t like the guy but I respect him sticking to his convictions and calling out obvious cheating! I think he also needs to call out Nick V and Ryan Feldman for the pieces of trash they are!

I don’t think he sees the other side- he just understands that a lot of people are convinced the other way.. and he still ttly disagrees w them. His jabs at Robi’s play now doesn’t hold water. She has Never been great and is still very green, so naturally her game *changes* His Exact comments apply perfectly to how Wesley’s game has dramatically changed over almost the same period. I really like and miss Garrett but not sure it made sense to get so upset w Nik going off on him and then Garrett admitted Garrett f’d up with his own personal tweets attacking Nik. Those pre-interview tweets about Nik are Exactly the reason Nik went on the interview w Doug and blasted back at G 🤦🏻 I honestly think the biggest issue is that G doesn’t understand other ppl. Doug was Perfect in correcting G by saying, No, Brilliant is Not the right word for Nik, it’s “savvy”. And Like the Vast majority of viewers of HCL, they first hate Nik. G just hasn’t come around like that same majority to understand and like Nik. Nik is a loud cartoon character and often plays it up for the “show”. Nik understands that Most eyeballs need a show, and it works w his nature. Nik is just not a quiet grinder, and yes is very polarizing but also misunderstood.

Doug, your interviewing has caught up, if not surpassed, your poker skills. And, that's saying alot. You're a nice healthy blend of Joe Rogan and Sean Evans. As ridiculous as it may sound, I also appreciate the added look of professionalism, dress attire etc. I could go on with accolades. In short, I just wanted to congratulate you on your recent strides and continued success. I'd watch you interview people of interest outside of the poker community, in this format. Thank you for creating content.

If you give Garrett and NikAirball 90 minutes each to just speak it’s easy to see who the actual bad guy is Edit: people still defending Airball can suck a big one

I think Garrett has a good point. We need to hear from Ryan and Nick. They are smack dab in the middle of all of this and have remained oddly silent throughout. They owe the viewers an explanation. I for one think "Banning" Garrett from the stream is a big mistake. Garrett was the only reason I even knew about or watched HCL. Ryan and Nick - We need answers.

If you dont watch any more why would they care about you . They running a business they want fans of the show not fans of one player. I like garret but he has to open up too .needs to cater to the audience and play players that don’t like him or are as good as him too

@Gerson Torres I never said I didn't watch the show anymore. I still watch the Friday game unless im playing myself. I would just like to watch Garrett play again. With the new Airball drama, I'd like to see those 2 battle it out in huge pots.

@Alex T That would be a good start, but HCL admitting someone cheated is horrible for them. It was definitely in their best interest to not find any wrongdoing.

Garrett clearly hates Nik but can't specifically refute anything that Nik said about him and even confirms most of Nik's criticism, "I could have handled things better."
