The young man sound very intelligent albeit he's trying to be very diplomatic and patriotic on some of the points he raised but you can surely read between the line.. He has said it all.. Ghanians don't do enough for their artists... The young man said a little more support from Ghanians won't hurt... I felt his pain right there. Ghanians will be tearing their own down at any point in time.. Aside this.. The artists as well see themselves as competitors.. What can you do with that kind of energy.. In Nigeria.. All artist are partners... They dont compete.. They collaborate.. Another aspect in our entertainment industry that's thriving now is the content creation most expecially comedy.. Look at the way those content creators support themselves.. Even big legend like KANAYO O KANAYO will feature in skits to support those guys, LALUDE AND ABIJA both veterans Yoruba artist will feature in skits to support those boys.. They won't say they are too big or it's just a 10 minutes comedy clip so don't put me in.. They will come do their best and voala.. Look at where those guys are right now.. Gannering millions of followers on social media and views on KZfaq.. It take a Ghanaian content creators years to gain 100k followers.. Look at CHUKWUEMEKA (Teejay) New Ghanaian Chanel.. Having over 500 hundreds views and the subscribers are not up to hundred.. Why are we like this.. No one will support your artist for you.. No matter how Nigerians like your artist.. When it come to picking between thier worst and your best.. Im sorry to dissapoint you that Nigerians will side with their worst.. Thats enough lesson for one day

Dear Teejay, Jamaica is a small country with only 3 Million people, but with global music domination. Ghana 🇬🇭 is a country with 30 Million, 10 times bigger than Jamaica, so that excuse of Nigerian population is stale.

Ghanaians are there hating on Nigeria 🇳🇬 about beats while Americans who have nothing to do with the African beats are there, trying to collaborate with Nigerians, the likes of Chris Brown, and the rest of them so they stay relevant. They don't understand Pidgin or Nigeria slangs as much as Ghana, but humility is taking them places. Look at Portable. Does he have the numbers as an individual or money, but he's pushing. Only to visit UK 🇬🇧 he called out skepta for help. Coming to America 🇺🇸 he has started shooting his shot from the airport. Davido is everywhere, infusing the genre still owning his own. Music career doesn't last forever nor the artist. So utilize it while yet you're still relevant

It is really really unfair to compare Ghana music to niaja becos is so disrespectful to even think of that 4 real... becos you can't see Canadian artists comparing themselves to America music industry despite Canada have Justin Bieber, drake, Celine Dion, and others , so they respect the American music industry and work and collaborate with them, so ghanians should learn how to humble and collaborate with niaja rather than measuring shoulder with their big brothers...infact the massive amounts of investment Nigeria is putting into their music industry is equivalent or more than the holl of Ghana budget 4 real..

I definitely agree with you TJ it’s not about numbers alone it’s about creating and having ur own sound. How can anyone be claiming what’s not theirs eg Jamaicans re the original owners of dancehall music but Ghanaians artist like Shatta Wale and Stoneboy re dwelling on a song that doesn’t belong to them. If they re that talented like what king promise assumed them to be why can’t them create their own style of sound like how Nigerians created aftobeat?..Shame they re all deceiving themselves instead of facing reality

This is the most rational analysis as regard this music development thing. 4 Sure many lazy KZfaqrs from Ghana who thrive in making countless comparison video about Nigeria won't really take time to listen to the facts you just laid out. We are tired of this competition and comparison post they put out there just to earn views and income dailyv online by tagging Nigeria into every issues, without helping to address the core issues. I myself wonder why guys didn't continue developing hiplife, but instead spend energy contesting main afrobeat. Bravo

King promise has forgotten that population means stiffer competition, and the stiffer the competition, the better the talent. How will competition between 30 million people bring out talents better than over 200 million? Make it make sense to me.

My brother king promise, talents brings attention, it drives money to you, no one will want to put money in where they will not gain. Talent will cause companies to locate you and invest, so they get returns, it baffles me when I hear people talk about having talent, yet their music is not making waves, Ghana music industry players always put their lack of success on support, we support our artists because they are talented and good at their talent, when you are good at what you are doing people will support you, if Nigeria music was bad the world will not listen to it, now internet has made everything easier, Nigerians are talented and hard working people. It has paid off for us.

exactly, you see, they don't talk down on South Africa because SA doesn't mess with them. I wish Nigeria can take the same approach. That's why I hope Ayra, Asake, Rema, Ruger, Tems..etc stay away and don't mess with them. If you notice, they don't talk negative about these Nigerian artists because there is no collaboration. The moment you mess with them, they start talking bad. That's why they are always talking about Whizkid, and Davido. If you notice Burnaboy and whizkid has stayed a way, but Davido keeps going and they will keep on making fun of him.

@@sean-et4wr Facts. Check all our female artists, non of them go to Ghana 🇬🇭 they don’t collaborate with Ghanaian artists, so they don’t trash talk them, but all this our big artists are the ones bringing shame to Nigeria from Ghana 🇬🇭. We Nigerians have cried out to them to stop the collaboration with Ghana artists, but they won’t listen so the only solution is to stop streaming any collaborations from Ghana.

King Promise wasn't entirely truthful. With the amount of Talents Nigeria brings out everyday, if King Promise was a Nigerian Artist, he wouldn't be considered among the top 20 talented artists in Nigeria. But I understand the desire to patriotic and assert that Ghana can hold its own against Nigeria in terms of musical talent, but realistically, he wasn’t being honest.

You said Ghana invented highlife. But Ghana didn't. That's the problem with Ghana. You guys are all the same. You love to claim everything. Every element of highlife exists in the music of most West African countries. So. Ghana is basically claiming everybody's music.
