Wait actually, both their messages and the life pod messages can be picked on the same frequency, so it would actually make a lot of sense, even more if most of them died to Warpers who found them via their messages.

My thalassophobia nearly killed me with that game...and i fucking loved every second of it, a true diamond in the rough that is modern gaming.

I like the idea that since we got the message from the warpers on our radio that the warpers can "hear" the sos's we can aswell making it a case of where you will always show up late as you canot outswim the warpers when they have a location from the radio ping

If you need help with the warpers, just rush and cut them with knife as soon as the teleport you it will proc them to teleport away. Also on wiki you can see which biomes have them so that you can evade encounters with them. My take on why there are no survivers is because developers didn't want to bother with making other actual human models so they decided to convey story through left voice messages. Also very good information is leviathan spawn points also on wiki. When you have to move near them use seaglide rather than seamoth so that they don't detect you, also be on surface, because they swim deep. Hope this helps fellow subnautica players. Pro warper tip, items shot with the propulsion cannon at them does massive damage. Will insta kill or maximum take 3 hits, acid shroom or small objects are good but any works if im correct (dont try with large objects it might not shoot fast enough)

I can see that, but some survivors were not necessarily killed by the Warpers. Most of the survivors were killed my leviathans. Life pod 4's distress signal shows that they were probably attacked by leviathans since their whole life pod was flipped over.

I have some primal fear of deep water. Even the ice ocean in Skyrim where I know nothing is creeps me out to no end. I cant bring myself to even try this hame.

When I was waiting for the sunbeam this one warper was just at the shore, 98% out of the water, staring at me and occasionally trying to shoot me. They never left even after I went through the portal for multiple days.

You know that the other calls are from the warpers they could be the reason why the other livepods a damaged ore there are a ot of creatures that wouldn't mind killing a human

there are a few warper deaths... but if you listen to the messages you learn one was ripped open by a reaper leviathan and another died on impact or shortly there after

Subnautica should have more leviathans The blood kelp zone is the scariest part of the world but is also one of the safest bc the only thing that can attack you there is a single warper that is usually far from the player and can't see them

I recently lost a few years off of my life because of one of these things. I was in the lava zone trying to grab a few resources. One of them was way over there. No problem. I squeeze into a small space and start grabbing something when I hear an odd noise. I turn around and I'm practically face to face with that one and it was coming for me. I jumped so hard and nearly quit the game.

So I've got a pretty bad case of thalassaphobia. Its weird, like being in the ocean doesn't bother me but its just the sheer bone crushing depths of the abyss of the ocean that paralyzes me. On a whim, I got the game and I kind of enjoyed it in the shallows, the sun shining through crystal waters and just decimating the peeper population to the point it can be considered genocide. Then I decided to grow a pair and explore the depths....listen, i have pretty bad anxiety and familiar with anxiety attavks but this was different, I began to sweat, slight shakes, goosebumps and a foamy dry mouth and then followed up by the worst panic attack of my life being triggered by just the sounds and thought treading through my mind. I had to go to therapy after that(I wish I was lying about that) and had the worst nightmares of my life. I'll never even put a shortcut to the game on my desktop. Never.

Mfw "Unknown monster lurking in shadows" is actually just another mob that openly patrols quite a lot of locations, and is not even a rare encounter. Warpers are around absolute most of significant human technology pieces(abandoned bases, shipwrecks e.t.c.), and near most alien bases. I highly doubt someone finished a game without ever encountering them. There is also a literal construction line for them at one of the key locations - disease research facility

The warpers being the ones that got them also gives an explanation as to why some of the holes in the life pods go outwards and were made from the inside

Here's My Theory: When the Aurora got shot down the aliens knew that something was going to crash on the planet... When They Came Looking For Survivours They Checked All the Life Pods Stole The Survivors Alive And Kept Them For Studying. All this happens before the player finds an empty pod. In other instances it may have been a leviathan. We know the aliens study stuff as in the disease research facility in the lost river. Hey its just a theory but a good one am I right?

I can't remember what the exact fear names are called but, these ones are the fear of what's lurking in the dark, the fear of open water, and the fear of giant creatures.

I've been all over the map so nothing really gets me anymore. I killed all the reapers,ghosts and fire dragons too so yeah. Not much left. Going under the map below the void is pretty creepy though and feels very weird looking up at the land above. One time I let the prawn suit fall into the void and it just kept going. It felt like I was falling forever.

It's seems everyone forget there's a adult ghost leviathan down to the blood kelp vines, I at least seen one in my game it may look small as the juvenile but I managed to scan it only because I already had a base that way leading to the lost river, I ditched my seamoth on purpose without saving to see how big the ghost leviathan in the blood kelp zone it's huge but I think he made me his best friend he doesn't seem to really attack anyone so now he family to me as well as my second home behind the aurora with my lil reaper boi, but I rather be kicking it with ghosty, terrifying still kinda spooks me but he family!
