Berserk spoilers up to chapter 256 TLDR: Your playlists are great and I love Griffith's character. We loved Kentarou Miura and always will. Your playlists always make me think abut Griffth. I honestly love looking into characters and thinking 'what would I have done?' Griffith is a perfect character to do that with because a ot of us would say 'no, I wouldn't do what he did' but I'm sure we could all think of someone in our lives who would, maybe even without a second thought. He's such a good character yet such a bad person. Hell, he makes me even question if he's a 'bad person' sometimes because in the world of berserk barely anyone is good. Is Griffith even evil? Sure he did awful things but what if he was doomed to from the start? From the moment he gained the behelit? The God Hand, I think Void specifically, said he was a 'god born a man' and the others saying he was their 'kinsman'. It makes me think, did he really have a choice? The God Hand showed him the hundreds of thousands of bodies from the people him and the Band of the Hawk/falcon killed and convinced him that all the death would be completely pointless if he didn't add just a few more to the pile... This and it was right after that vile torture for an entire year, would he be thinking correctly? Maybe... but then again, It was either sacrifice and achieve his goal while improving the countless lives of Midland's people or live as that pathetic, reduced state that must've left him enraged at every flaw of himself... It's hard to say if anyone is any better than the man plenty have come to hate. I've never been able to write this much about a single character before and never questioned myself and humanity as a whole so in depth before reading Berserk. This manga is a masterpiece. We love you Kentarou Miura.

This is why Guts is given a behelit, even if it isn't actually his it leaves you with doubts. In giving Guts that choice it gives power to his will to remain human and stuggle against causality despite the suffering it causes him, and the metaphorical beast that emergences from his subconscious. With Griffth i just feel bad for him his entire life was orchistated by The God Hands in order to make Femnto. If he just relised after loosing to Guts or had decided that he would pursure his dreams without giving up his humanity mabye things would have turned out differently. I want to belive Griffth had a choice because I want to belive that i have a choice but i'm not sure if it's true, all we can do is struggle. In the end we're just left with the story we got and a bunch of regretful hypotheticals and its an amazing manga for it RIP Miura.
