i wish i had this luck with beo... no charged shot, no rush delivery, no mirage shot for me on this aspect, so it stays on sub 11 mins, just like all other weapons for me (except for spear), Need to practice a bit to get better results i guess 🤓 also got 8:53 on Achilles spear with hunting blades, best run i had so far

hey hael congrats! I've seen some speedruns, where after each chamber with several doors, they waited at one door. unlike you, who waits halfway between two doors for example. any reason not to do one or the opposite? cheers.

It's better to wait in front of one if the other(s) are one dash away. If they're spread apart (like in Asphodel), it's better to wait between so that you can see what each has before moving. I'm certainly not perfect at it.

I mean, it is just speedrun setup - forced overtime, em 2 and timer... So heat only helps here)

That’s actually the standard heat for real time runs: 6 heat from tight deadline is obviously easy to deal with and turns off the 45 second survival room in Tartarus, 6 heat from forced overtime makes enemies spawn in faster, and 3 heat from extreme measures makes the hydra fight much faster.

@@user-if2rw9xk3utechnically Tight Deadline off is slightly better for IGT speedrun (for chance of survival rooms which stop timer) but it's minimal difference. I had 12 heat for my best speedrun, with EM2 and FO2

How are you launching the casts without moving?

The shield's aspect of beowulf allows you to load your casts into your attack so they all hit the same enemy the attack lands on. The bow also has an aspect like this, called Hera

Mirage shot is bugged on beowulf so it basically doubles your damage (not sure how much you know about the game and how the weapon aspects work)

I play the game a fair bit but I know nothing of the "meta" or tricks. Still, even before mirage shot he was dealing maaad damage super quickly, seemed like he was casting and attacking at the same time? @@Nat_the_Chicken

This weapon aspect (Beowulf) loads your casts into your shield so that they explode at the end of your bullrush attack.

@@vincentpellegrini968 Yeah I wasn't sure if I should explain Beowulf or if you already understood it, but that's the entire gimmick of it: you cast and attack at the same time. It's the shield's secret aspect, so that's probably why you haven't seen it, I think you need to get Chaos to unlock it for you? Not sure

oh no I did unlock it haha, I reached the epilogue so I think I got to see most of the game, I just couldn't fathom it did so much damage. I'm mainly a Varatha&Malphon kinda guy@@Nat_the_Chicken

Not being able to skip those Hades-talking clips, that occur every once in a while before a run, is infuriating to say the least, especially when you have to watch them again, every time you quit for new RNG rolls...

IGT stands for in-game time, the game itself tracks time in a different manner, pausing the timer at fountains and during some stages of the game. You are able to see the in-game time at the top right throughout the game. This was a IGT PB not real time.

Does anyone else watch these and feel like they’re playing a different game? It’s so much quicker - but the animations themselves of fighting seem to be sped up. Am I missing something? Playing on PS

I have Forced Overtime on (+40% enemy move/attack speed) which can feel quite a bit different if you don't play with it yourself much.

I get this tbh and forced overtime is part of it but I think his zagreus also feels faster; I assume it's because speedrunners are just good at knowing the soonest moment an animation can be canceled into the next one, which makes everything faster

@@trainzelda1428speedrunning beo means doing dash strikes into charges, which are faster than normal charges (and scoots which are dash strikes into another dash which continues the attack, which is even faster). That might explain why the animations feel faster.
