Any advice on how to build projects and stay out of the Tutorial Hell and connect the concepts??? I would appreciate if you sincerely answered these questions. Thanks.

@@Sir21GoalsJust learn enough to start build something small and go from there! I usually learn enough to just be able to build a CRUD app in a language. Then, from there you should know enough syntax in that language. From there figure out how to build small features like a login page, implementing a database, improving the frontend with a CSS framework, etc. Then, eventually get to bigger projects like implementing AI into your database like what Chris is doing. Just have fun with the process!

Not using tutorials is so key as you progress in your software career. I’m learning that now. Learn by doing and building what you’re interested in. May be harder without any handholding but it does pay off. And you have a portfolio project that could impress employers. Prioritize JIT (just in time) knowledge vs JIC (just in case).

Congrats Sean! Been following your journey since 2017. You've been a huge inspiration in my journey as a developer. I would love to see an in depth guide covering the full skill stack needed to get a job like yours that is more backend and ai based!

This doesn't make any sense for slow learners, you have to sit down in your spare time after work and learn and brush up the syntax and moreover, understand what to use when. You cant just "know how to use it". Especially when you first learning how to code. What hes saying is, since he already knows how to code, it still takes 2 weeks minimum yo familiarize yourself with the syntax and hes been working as a dev for 7 yrs whos learned/mastered how programming logic flow works to build a product from start to finish on live production environment and has delivered successfully for companies. You cant just say know how to do it, by doing it/using it to build projects and stuff cuz thats not fair to those learning and still in the trenches mentally of trying to understand the programming logic.

Nah bro you actually telling the truth. I'm learning dev and I can't just code a website if I don't know css and Javascript, I first have to understand the logic and the terminologies first then I can code because the tutorial made me understand the basics. I feel your pain bra, this KZfaq are getting so annoying now because all of them contradict each other by saying different thing, Now you don't even know who to trust anymore that's why I'm stopping KZfaq bra because I don't know if it's just me because these KZfaqrs are starting to say shit just to rack up the views without even fact checking there information

@@cgh2467 cost of living here is insane too. :( My bills alone are $6,500 and that’s living below my means. Before my new job my bills went up to $8,500 (health insurance was $2,000/m) which meant that I needed to make 10k minimum to survive before taxes. My full time job pays me $11,000/m after taxes and that’s including after maxing out my 401k ($1,916/m) and $1,000/m for health benefits at work. If I didn’t invest it would be $12,000/m.

Haha. And lots of jobs require some knowledge of web dev. I feel like backend can get very complicated and there are jobs where you have to write multithreaded code (I had an interview for a LLC company that had project where you worked on codebase which involved working with threads). Also there are different types of backend it seems. I think the backend jobs are in higher demand and have way less candidates compared to front end ones? Idk just my 2 cents
