Love the Allman Brothers. Great bunch of tunes. I was lucky enough to interview the guitar player from the Night Crawlers in Ormond Beach FL. He went to school with Duanne and Gregg. Amazing stories. Today Sylvan Wells makes incredible hand crafted guitars and is an Attorney. Imagine being 17 and opening for the Beach Boys in Daytona and the Allman Joys are on the bill !

Lol just yesterday I sent a link to my friend of Little Black Egg and said "remember this"? It was all over the radio in FL when I was a kid. That catchy opening riff on B, E string was the first thing I ever tried to play on electric guitar. Tell your friend thanks😁🙏.

Thanks Tim! I love your seemingly effortless playing styles which I know only comes from years of experience and an absolute mastery of music! Your instruments, including guitars but also amps, pedals, recording equipment etc are all wonderfully used in the creation of your sonic landscapes, portraits, and abstracts..... Plus I am a great judge of character, and via some mutual acquaintances I am sure you are a generous guy and a great hang... please keep posting and doing what you do-- It Matters!

Duane, Gregg, and Berry are all buried about 200 yards from my apartment…just across the street, actually. I’m 45, so I didn’t really get heavily into the Allman Bros until sometime in the ‘90s when I was learning to play guitar, but I feel so fortunate to have gotten to see the remaining members live back in 2008.

The Tilt is a great pedal. I've had it for just a few weeks. I only have two amps and they're very different. A Morgan AC20 and a Magnatone stereo Twilighter. The Tilt is very easy to dial in to either amp and across very different guitars. He's got an excellent pedal there.

I was at the Fillmore East recording of The Allman Brothers Band in March 1971. I think that they recorded it over a few nights? The lineup was The Elvin Bishop Group, The Allman Brothers and Johnny Winter And (Rick Derringer) I remember that in addition to the shows there was a lot of jamming going on. It was a long show however and I was sixteen years old then and most of the details elude me. I just remember that it was a great show. You got a lot of bang for your buck at the Fillmore, NY Academy of Music, Capital Theater in Portchester, NY etc. in those days. I love that you, Rick Beato and others revisit this music and are responsible for keeping this stuff alive on You Tube, Thanks.

Thanks, Tim. This is a great end to this day's training with the (volunteer) sound engineer from another church, and our whole (volunteer) group participated. While setting up, Gary and I mentioned a number of KZfaqrs (including Rick Beato) and I will be looking up the group Gary told me about in Atlanta, Foxes and Fossils. Great advisor, and everyone enjoyed participating, practicing with the sound board, adjusting mic types and placement, providing the sound sources (singing and acoustic guitar) and adjusting the recording mix (which also goes out to KZfaq). We learned a lot for the future, and I learned that I don't sound that bad in our quartet of dads (a lot of those jokes in there) as we sang to adjust the choir mics. Tomorrow starts an hour earlier for me (adjusting lyrics for the music director, retired from Tuxedo Junction's keyboards) than it did on this Saturday. I give thanks for all this ear training, as my old fingers and muscle memory develop (beaten into submission?) as I'm starting to learn guitar.
