@@Robinson496 He didn't HAVE to take the fight. He was PRESSURED to take the fight. But he still could have said no. I guess that extra $1.5mil was too tempting. And from what Bradley said, Ryan already tried to make the fight with Haney at 143, but Haney said no because he wanted to drain Ryan just like Tank did. Ryan basically said screw you, I'll agree to a fight at 140 and then come in at 143, and you're gonna accept it. After what happened in his fight with Tank, it's understandable. Ryan's trying to make superfights that the other top fighters are afraid to make. Haney should be thankful, he made more money in that fight than the rest of his career (around $20 million). He will probably never make that much again, unless he rematches Garcia of course.

@@Ferno90033 There was no breaking of contract. Once Devin decided to monetize the overweight pounds there was no advantage. He made a deal that basically told Ryan I don't care if you come into the fight over weight I'm just going to make you pay for it but Devin ended up paying for it instead. Devin knew Ryan would be overweight which is why he asked for $500,000 per pound. He got paid they fought he lost. That's what happens when you're greedy for money. What he should have said was if you come in overweight there's no fight if he really felt like Ryan would have an advantage. Don't you think?

If you can make the weight you can fight in that division. It's not easy making weight and there can be serious downside to cutting too much weight, no matter how big you rehydrate to, it can make you very weak so there is a fine balance. You can't complain about a guy who makes weight blowing up after he has made weight. Like prograis moaning about Devin but prograis could always drop down to lightweight if he wanted and he would see that killing yourself to make a lower weight so you are the bigger man in the ring isn't always a good idea

Floyds shoulder roll was in the same trajectory as ryans, except floyd actually made it look good and was coordinated, ryan is sloppy and awkward and doesnt use the shoulder roll he gets in a shoulder roll position then puts his to his head to his chest and puts both hands up, looks weird but definitely not illegal, but bending below the waist is literally illegal if you know the rules of boxing, so is excessive clinching, both those are devins main defense, bend below the waist and hug, over and over, if the ref actually warned and took points for both those tactics devin would never win a fight.

He compared the "advantage" to the davis fight. It was nowhere NEAR of a significant advantage as gervonta had against garcia if there was an advantage at all fr. Ryan had to go lower than 140 which he already has a hard time making PLUS the rehydration clause you could see it in his face and body he was too drained for the fight but he did it anyways. This fight with haney it was a little to no advantage at all haney was able to rehydrate before the fight and instantly was probably right at 160 maybe even a little more. If garcia didnt acknowledge Timothy's insults and judgement with his own insult back Timothy would be giving garcia so much praise but tim just dont like that he got punched back PERIOD POINT BLANK. Its one thing to be an analyst and commentator but its another thing to just insult and call someone out their name and thats what Timothy did. You can say okay but fighters have to deal with it like others in the past, do you not realize that you can say the same in reverse, when an analyst and commentator is the type to take it farther and insult and call out someones character that the fighters in the past have gotten mad amd spoke up, the analyst and commentator has to take it right back.

I think what we really saw is Haney having absolutely no corner. Got in the ring with a big dude, with one arm, and one punch, and he took that hook on the chin, flush, inside 45 seconds. Whatever else happened before, he was completely unprepared for an extremely limited fighter - and then he had no gameplan on how to proceed after he lost the first that badly. I dont think any serious boxing fan can watch Garcia wandering around the ring, shrugging his shoulder and thinking he's in a 'shell', and come away thinking anything happened other than Haney collapsing when he got popped after not taking the fight seriously. Because the skill gap between them is enormous, the experience gap is enormous, and Haney changed nothing, all fight. Ive said for a LONG time that he needs a new coach, and new representation, and losing to this sideshow feels like a big confirmation of that.

Garcia knew he would have an absolute advantage coming in 3.2lbs over that is a massive advantage especially when the other fighter Haney struggled to make the weight. But that's what Champions do and that's why contracts and weight classes are for. Ryan intentionaly came in heavy and with a purpose to have a massive advantage. For that he should be fined and 1 year suspention. Furthermore, Haney should sue him.

Its not about what you rehydrate to its about making the weight. Losing that much weight takes something out of you. Its not why haney lost the fight but it was an unfair advantage for ryan. Ryan didnt have to drain himself to make the weight and haney did. For haney to win that fight vs ryan garcia it had nothing to do with weight it had everything to do with taking that left hook away from ryan either by being defensively responsible with it or countering it so ryan doesnt even want to throw it. Haney did neither and got hit with it flush over and over again. And thats why he lossed the fight

It is well known that cutting weight is a direct negative impact on fighters conditioning which is directly related to their chin and ability to take a shot. Those last 3 pounds for Garcia are much harder for ryan than Haney, he's a naturally bigger guy. I think it's BS in boxing you do not have legit champions in each weight class but instead you have a guy like Ryan who is too big for these guys have to cut a ton of weight + rehydration clause's in order to make it fair.
