The Italian M26A1 is an absolute Monster. It takes what makes the US M26 Pershing very good and just gives it more gun! 20mm doesn't seem like a lot... but your GF might tell you otherwise! :)
Anyway, the Italian Pershing is a monster. 185mm of pen. Good reload. Good speed. Good mobility. Good post pen damage. Good defensive armament. Good armour. It's good. REALLY good.
The M26A1 is just a super solid machine that can hold its own so long as you don't overstep or overextend. The gun is excellent and feels much better than the US 90mm which gives you the confidence to get those cheeky side armour shots on King Tigers and Panthers at steep angles.
Highly recommend. I'll give this tank an 8.1 ! No rookie scores here!

Don't stop grinding Germany or any other major nation (US, Germany, Russia, Britain) to grind one of these minor nations unless you just like the nation. Don't be tempted by what "appears" to be an OP vehicle in one of these minor trees. One last thing. If you have this Pershing don't play it for at least a week now. Play opposite it. The newbs will all be trying to be Odd now. This applies to almost any vehicle you see a CC "play".

Day 100!🎉🎉🎉: Hello!!!! I’m gonna be gone for two weeks camping so I’m just saying that I’m not gonna stop on day 100. Also, for anyone that questions why I’m doing this…it’s because it 1. Boosts the channel a slight bit 2. It hopefully makes Odd’s day a little better and 3. This was honestly some of the most fun I've had spading every tank in Italy. The 6.3 lineup was fantastic thanks to this thing. It's one of the best workhorse medium tanks I've played in War Thunder, just a good Jack-of-all-trades. Also, 5:00 I feel you. This shit happens to me constantly.

My dad was Tanker during the Pershing era. His job was taking new tanks as they came in and running them through a test course before they were sent to the field.

i'm an italy main and the 6.3 italian lineup that includes this pershing is the only one i get constantly frustrated with. idk what i'm doing wrong. i hope this video will help me

As an Italian main 6.3 was so fucking cancer given the fact that ur lineup consisted of 2 Light wheeled vehicles that can get .50 cal’d, one good medium, and a tank destroyer with the armor found on lower tier Shermans and a bad engine. The only way I was able to get pass it was abandon the idea of getting kills and just gun for assists with ur lights. The heatfs isn’t going to reliably one shot other tanks and ur hesh round is not that good. Also stopped using the tank destroyer as it was practically useless, taking like 30 years to get to the battlefield only to get killed by CAS or any other tank after 1 or 2 kills.

The US M26 should have the 185mm pen M82. That round was issued to the T26s during Zebra Mission at the end of WWII but Gaijin decided against it.

Centurion Mk. 5/1 is a really good grinder. And if you like bri’ish 7.3 APDS slingers, its exactly more of that. Its just such a great line up. Wish i had been in time to get the Strv when it was still in the british tree.

It's no surprise you hit the rock, Odd. Your gunner doesn't sight thru the barrel, her optics are offset (presumably) to the left of the barrel. Though you had a clear sight of the target thru your optic, the barrel, offset to the right, was masked by the rock you were hiding behind, so when you fired your shot hit the rock that was masking your barrel. It's akin to parallax.

Normally, the offset makes no difference if you were say 50-100m behind the obstruction - your round follows your line of sight. You were just too damn close this time

Ok I'm going to nerd out for a second. There should be no difference between the M26 Pershing and M26A1 performance-wise. The gun was identical ballistically and fired the exact same rounds. The difference was that the M26A1 used an improved M3A1 90mm that had a bore evacuator and a single baffle muzzle brake. Neither of those changes improved ballistic performance. No changes were made to the chamber, the rifling, the length, or anything that would actually improve penetration. This is just another example of poor homework by Gaijin.
