It truly is.. There has to be a way to ensure all non essential services are closed and that People MUST Stay inside..However we can not criticize Italy when our own Beaches are still getting large groups.. Every Country that has outbreaks needs to get even more serious.. We all still have far too many non essential services open. Sadly it may take Marshall Law Globally.. Hearing that they are no longer counting those who Die is horrifying..

@@2023Naturegirl I agree! Here in southern Michigan I live behind several factories and they're still running! Why are they? I know ppl have to have a check but is this essential? We have ppl coming in from all over different counties and if you ask me that's not good if we want to stop the spread of this. Don't wanna sound heartless, but they should have prepared! All the signs where there, they chose to ignore it. I'm sorry for people loss, but they should have taken this virus seriously that for goes for the government and the people. I tried to warn people they didn't listen, some co-workers even made fun of me. I got N95 mask, disinfectant, Clorox in early February!

I am not saying that there is not the new strain of corona virus ,there is,but its all tracked now and trust me little bro, people have beed dieing allready . 1520000 children under age of 5 died so far this year , and where is panic about that ? @Tecumseh we literally knew they were dealing with an epidemic in December and by January they were locking down Wuhan and any area affected by the virus. China's initial approach was questionable but everything after they've been right. They told us a total lockdown is the only solution, they told us testing is the key to fighting this virus, they told us limited movement us a crucial a part of the battle. But the sheer arrogance coming from the US and UK thinking that they know better than the countries that have dealt with COVID19 for much longer is ridiculous. Get off your high horse and anti-China statements. COVID19 knows no border or race, all we can do is learn how to contain it.

A lot of people died here because it soon turned from people to people to community to people, it's pretty devastating

Too late. The USA is going to top the charts for the most deaths of any country. The people there are too individualistic to obey any government. Your health service is too fractured to do the joined up planning required and too many just don't have the insurance or the money to pay for health care. The US graph rose slower to begin with but now it's increasing. Within a week to 10 days you'll overtake the number of deaths China had at the same stage of their outbreak and I just don't see you managing to crack down on people like China did. Among other problems, we have a generation of young people who think, "it's only killing 'Old' people." By old, they mean anyone over 40. Yesterday MSNBC (I believe it was them) said 38% of confirmed U.S. cases were people 18 to 34. Even if it WERE only "Old People," every one of them is someone's son or daughter, father or mother, etc.. What happens when someone passes it to someone THEY love because, "it's only killing 'Old' people?" Wake up people, it's not just about YOU, it's about the people you could pass it to!

My wife has had MS for over 19 years. This is how we have lived since 2000. She almost died from the common flu twice. If she gets it, we're done. I have a "gray room" for changing & disinfecting before any interactions. I'm healthy, I'm worried about her and my crew.

I vacationed in Falmouth back in the early 2000's. Spent a lot of time going between Mo Bay and Ocho Rios. Your country is absolutely gorgeous! Between the Luminous Lagoons, the Dunn River Falls and black sand beaches, if I was Jamaican, I don't think I would ever leave.

The death count just absolutely breaks my heart and wrecks my morale. I visited Italy several times. They are the friendliest people in Europe and the tragedy only hurts me personally. An Italian friend lost her husband in a car accident a few years ago. Hearing about so many deaths in her country leaves me scared for her safety too...

No..it will not eradicate the virus. The lockdown is to slow the spread so the health care system doesn’t get overwhelmed. And hopefully a vaccine will be developed. Otherwise, the virus powers on until herd immunity develops from enough people getting it and/or a vaccine is successful.

No wonder that WHO is keeping Taiwan out and not listening to their Covid 19 warning confirming human to human transmission in December. Yet they said there is no confirmed cases of human to human transmission well into February. Downplaying everything and ruining and abusing health expert trust who fell for that lie. Despite this being clearly not true. Not to mention Taiwan is not recognised for their success of curbing the spread of the virus in their country. They are the most successful in this regard without resorting to extreme Draconian measures like China did. We should look up to Taiwan rather then China. What did they do that we didn't.

We've been in lockdown in Spain for 10 days. The funeral service has collapsed and the Madrid icerink is being converted into a mass mortuary. Watching coverage from the states is horrifying, like watching a crowd bigger than I can imagine go sleepwalking off a cliff. For the 'it's just a flu' people, you should know that your family cannot be with you in ICU and the nurses have no time to be with you. There's not enough of anything. The people die alone.

Of course there were some exception, especially at the beginning when the situation was still unclear, but I don’t find it very fair saying “ we don’t get it”, since there are people here closed in their homes from the very beginning, who have been staying alone, away from their families and affections for so long, and still are. Also, the comment about us Italians being racist is an horrible thing to say since it is absolutely not true, at least for the majority of the population. Even if there may be some exceptions, because unfortunately people with these kind of retrograde beliefs still exists (all over the world I must say), that doesn’t justify the fact that you can generalise in this way, attributing this behaviour to a whole nation. It’s just unfair for all those people who are being described as something they are not.

I live in china and I made a comment about how they handled the quarantine here: masks, isolation(it wasn’t even enforced by police or military just personnal discipline), disinfection of public places (smelled like Clorox everywhere , using tissue paper in the lift ) , creation of a green pass for ppl who Hadn’t been exposed to the virus , daily form filled to show your health status, temperature and pass check in every public place and for every transportation. Some idiot replied with “yeah but what abou our freedom?” . And that’s the issue you’re talking about freedom when you’re about to die. Sacrifice your freedom for a couple of weeks or a Month then you can fight for it. Again I repeat there was no police or military in the streets here. And they did it. Meanwhile I look at these videos and ppl don’t even wear a mask.

Please do yourself and others a great favor by checking out videos on the 1918 Spanish Flu. That and others came and went , but returned once or twice more , a healthy individual might have survived the first infection but the body was still damaged enough that he or she died from the second infection This could happen to you young people , an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I traveled to China in September of 2019. At the time I was 26 years old and frequently traveled to China for martial arts training. But the last time I went I became so sick and doctors there couldn’t find anything wrong with me. I thought I was going to die and I’m not a weak person by any means. I was in and out of hospital 10 times with no answers or relief. I remained sick for almost a month and had breathing problems after the experience for some time and I’m a athlete highly conditioned with no issues ever. When I first heard of covid19 and the symptoms I knew in my heart that’s what I had. I had never experienced that feeling in my life. Chest pain can’t take full breaths night sweats and fever headaches dry cough spitting up unusual amounts of clear phylum never in my life have I thought I would die. But in that moment I thought I would and felt helpless stuck in China and Chinese doctors were rude to me told me I was crazy and to leave there is nothing wrong with me. I have all the medical paperwork from my visits to the hospital in China to prove this. I tried calling cdc to tell them about this but could not get a hold of anybody. I am reaching out to you because I saw on the news that they are concerned about some young people who become violently ill from the virus in France and Italy. Also I was in Yunnan Lijiang China (the same place where SARS came from) when I became ill. I’m not looking for attention or fame I just thought maybe this information could help scientists. Also I recently became ill with the same symptoms I had in China last September but not as violently started February 10 and I just got better last week. Tried to see my doctor during that and was ridiculed and told I was overthinking and that I would not get a test by my primary care doctor. Hope this information helps.
