Manu, you’re a great teacher. I love the videos. Regarding using Lei when being formal, you occasionally hear in English, maybe at a very VERY fancy restaurant, the waiter might say, “Would the gentleman like some wine?” Or “would the lady like some more bread?” This is pretty unusual, but you do hear it once in a while. Just wanted to share that with you and looking forward to the next lesson. Molto grazie!

Oh my gosh thank you! I'm using an older Italian book to self-teach while supplementing with other free materials and they have 9 subject pronouns, but I know from learning other languages that language is fluid so I was skeptical if this was the case. So I came to your channel to verify and I'm so glad I did!

I love this language! I can understand it because my native language is Spanish, and I learned English as a second language. This is also what makes it so difficult for me to speak it! Recently I started a taking a class and they listed “e Lei?” For “and you?” As a response to “mi chiamo Flor” -Is that correct or is that biblical Italian that you are talking about?

I just started yesterday and have watched the previous 7 lessons. Love your videos! But I have to correct one thing here, these (I, you, he/she, we) are called pronouns, and they are used as a subject in a sentence. Subjects can be nouns obviously, or a short phrase.

Is 'voi' the plural of both 'tu' and "Lei"? Ie, what's the 2nd person plural pronoun in the formal and informal way? Grazie :)

Ciao Debra, no lesson 7 and 8 are two different lessons, the lesson n. 8 is about Subject Pronouns and lesson n. 7 is about Immersion.

Have you ever addressed anyone in your life as “Loro” as the form for you?? Grazie. My textbook , Avanti, lists Loro for you in the 3 rd person plural as “ your majesty..”

Ciao! Loro is only used by people in some specific areas (like Naples). It is definitely not used in everyday, standard Italian. I guess I have never met any royals! ☺
