Nice reaction guys! Two things that I would like to mention. The Russian introduction of the performance used the phrase "Figurnava Katanja" which doesn't mean that Lara is from Catania. My fellow Russian speaking Lara fans could translate that for you, but I think it means group of singers. Yes, Lara is half Italian because her mom and her mom's family are full blooded Sicilians. Lara was born in Belgium (her father is Belgian) so she is not from Catania even thou Lara spent her first 6 years of life growing up in Italy. When her dad moved the family back to Belgium Lara was so upset that at the beginning of the school year she refused to speak french. This performance is very special, because Lara is Dimash's idol since he was a boy and he dreamed of singing with Lara on stage. This night was his dream come true. Finally, you two keep asking the question how come that you've never heard of Lara Fabian before. Now that subject is a great heartache for Lara, because some of your countrymen never accepted her because she wasn't full Italian and because she spent most of her adult life in another country. Even when she became famous those people found a way to give her a hard time about it. So she never applied for her rightful Italian citizenship. Instead she chose the country that welcomed her and embraced her as one of their own:Canada. In France, Belgium, Canada (especially on the french side) and Russia Lara is an icon, a living legend, a Goddess of singing. In many parts of Europe and South America she is also very much loved. Nowadays thanks to Dimash and youtube she became even more famous and recognized all around the world and any country would be honored to call Lara one of their own.....except the one that would mean the world to her. The entire show at the VTB Arena was epic. Dimash sang a duet with Aida. Aida is a very accomplished Opera singer, very experienced, beautiful voice. Check her career out on Wikipedia. Dimash sang several other songs on his own at this show, he opened with Olimpico, then sang with Aida. Later he returned to sing Passione and Know. I wish I’d been there!!!! Hello from the United States! FYI I love watching you guys, regardless of the language you use. I don't understand a word of Italian, but cheerfully turn on subtitles when I watch. On the other hand, hearing you speak English is wonderful also. At all times, your cheerfulness is infectious no matter what language you use. You don't need to apologize for being (at least) bilingual. It's so admirable those who speak several languages. Your English is really quite good, better and more understandable than many native speakers, because you take the time to pronounce things clearly instead of us mumble-mouths ;-) . And the slight musicality of your Italian accent makes it even more wonderful. As for Dimash, when has he ever steered us wrong?
