The noises during the kick has always been a thing at Murrayfield, and honestly I'd like to think the booing was for our own Scottish players rather than for the Italian side

Italy have still given great moments despite their lack of wins though, and I'm glad they've stayed in the competition too. I don't think I'll ever forget their wins over France in 2011 and 2013.. probably up there with the best 6Ns games ever for me. As for the booing, its unsportsmanlike but very rare for the Scottish fans. Of course there is an expectancy to preform and 9 times from 10 beat Italy, so they probably expected this. I think the booing was wrong for the kicking, but otherwise they booed their own players (bad too). Generally the Scots are always good sports and great fans tho 👏 this is a rare exception!

It sucks that Italy had to wait so long before being given the chance to join the tournament. They were a really good side in the 90s. Had they been allowed in the 5 nations then, they might have scored more wins, attracted more young players, and maybe have carried that momentum til today. Welp, at least they have the chance Romania never had even when they could beat Wales, Scotland and France in the 80s.

Parisse, Castrogiovanni and Canale are all from Argentina, as were most of Italy's fly-halves in the last couple of decades. Argentina has now had a professional rugby team for a few years so the financial appeal of heading to Italy and playing for our sort of 'motherland' has vanished, and frankly good riddance to it. Much like Japan, they built what little success they've had on the back of imported players, without ever developing the game among their own folk.

100% agree. Under age structure need a massive restructure and also club rugby. Zebre and Benetton need to have top coach, both fitness and skill coaches as well. National coaches can only setup strategy and gameplay. Fitness and skills mostly build in club rugby and youth. Its time to change.

The strength and depth of Scotland means we will never challenge for the World Cup seriously and to do well in the six Nations might be every generation. On a different note, had Scotland voted for independence we might’ve had been able to get our Economy back and therefore help our rugby team.

Theres no other team to compete....with Georgia will hapend the same....so...its difficult. Maybe Japan...but will is better to.keep.it as a traditional european tournament
