Amazing !! No body actually has ever explained why does it work to form the fix point function (how it is related to the y=x) although it is pretty simple.

first draw the graph of X^3 then make it 3 times shorter and that will get x^3/3 then shift the graph 1/3 upwards

I haven't found an explanation for this anywhere else. Does anybody know any other source? Thank you so much, I've been snappy for an hour because I couldn't find anything to explain this. Knowing how to do sth without knowing what it is makes me feel stupid
