The karate here is so different than it was back in the day when they stood in a more forward facing stance and used hands 75% of the time and blitzed straight through the opponent.

Jabbing from the bladed stance isn't hard; plenty of boxers actually fight pretty bladed. I think the rulesets and training methodologies of ITF TKD and point karate discourage jabbing.

So what are the rule set here? If it is kickboxing or mma, whoever use the advantages of the rule can actually dominate the fight

Very entertaining. I'm totally cool with martial arts in the context of sport with specific rules. I don't think every martial art has to aspire to MMA or Street Beefs. It's fun just to watch the athleticism of a kick-fest between two traditional martial arts. But what style or foundation of karate is it for reference? Shotokan? Shito Ryu? Also, when possible, would you establish at the start where the match is taking place? Taiwan? China? At the expense of offending people I tend to put more credibility in the matches out of Taiwan which seems of higher quality, more legitimate than a lot of amateur fights out of China where fighters purporting to represent a style look clueless, or the fights are "worked". Sorry if I come across as disrespectful but I calls it as I sees it.

Jabs don't have more power than a backfist in a bladed stance. The ending of the jab will naturally throw you into a bladed stance though as you pull the opposite shoulder back, Like circling off center.

I'm pretty sure the first guy wasn't jabbing because the Karate guy was clearly baiting a jab and he didn't want to play into his game

In Taekwondo rule ( ITF and WTF) they are not allowed to use sweeping and takedown techniques but WKF and Karate full contact do. So a Taekwondo fighter who not training another marital art will face some problems with Karateka ( with mixed kick and punches techniques and sweeping/ takedown)
@mysticramen4104
@mysticramen4104 16 күн бұрын
But wkf karate doesn't have continous fighting, which itf taekwondo does, the only difference between them is the foot sweeping and some throws that karate allows, itf taekwondo beats american kickboxing all the time, so they are tough against karatekas. And what type of full contact karate are you talking about? Kyokushin? They allow foot sweeping but no grabbing at all (i say this beacuse i train kyokushin and fought under their rules), enshin? I think they do allow throws

When you are super bladed you have to kinda turn your shoulder to jab properly, better off throwing a backfist if you are gonna stay bladed like that

Taekwondo rules deny sweeping and catching opponent legs but Karate rules not. And Karate fighters training both hands and legs skills more than Taekwondo, which make them more advantage than Taekwondo fighters.
@kogerenten

@@ieuhac2052 its absolutely have no sence) tkd legs are the best, and everybody knows this. Nobody goes to karate school for making his leg-level higher, everyone goes to taekwondo schools. And also i can give you a link to a video of competition between this styles. Of course it depends on many factors, but perfect legs are real power. If you learn tkd-guy punches and sweeps - he will become more effective than karate-guy. But tkd has no such goal.

Point fighting is just so lame. You learn almost nothing doing it & develop bad habits. As well as wrong fighting instincts
@ivanyardin9022
@ivanyardin9022 8 ай бұрын
It has its place to avoid injury. However once you are good, then if an attacks succeeds, it succeeds. I did Shotokan as my first art and my sensei was a bit of a rebel and we fought full contact, with no protection and the head was a target also the groin and I tell you, you learn how not to play around, jumping like a kangaroo, but you wait to conserve energy and you only hit when you know your attack will touch the opponent. If they block successfully, that is ok. You also learn how to keep fighting and what it feels to get hit so you don't freeze. That's the way the Japanese used to train around WW2. Real fighting... After I moved to kickboxing and muay thai and knew what it was like to get hit already. When you do get hit, you take it like a warrior, and hit back to break the opponent literally and figuratively. When you then fight in the street, you will be ready. No fear. We strive for peace but if someone is willing to put their hands on you, even though you tell them u don't want to fight, then mercy only after they are down.

@@farkinarkin5099It’s pretty much just shitty hand and foot fencing, except, actual fencing would maul someone if you hit someone with a rapier when you score a point in fencing. But this… You would be trained to hit someone to slightly inconvenience them and then you would get slammed. Practitioners like Katsunori Kikuno and Akimoto’s style of Karate and Bogutsuki in general (Armored/Unarmored full contact REAL karate) should’ve been the one that became mainstream. Not the stupid olympics one.

@@defaultsetThe difference here is that when you fence, you go full force as we wear safety jackets. If you then use duel weapons and you don't wear protection, the attacks and feelings in matches and duels are the same, except of course your weapon will penetrative and you need to learn how to pull it out. I did fencing for a couple of years and fought a couple of Olympians during training. Fantastic art 😂. Do you think any martial artist would have any chance against a fencer? After all, karate was created to fight both armed and unarmed opponents...
