One of the reasons that Ethiopia rejected Somalia offer is the Safety ,As we know Somalia is not as safe as Somaliland .Pirates ,Alshabab,ISIS and Clan Histotic problems are there in Somalia .

The port of Hobiyo that somalia is offering is so far away and not economically feasible. It’s plugged by Alshabaab and it’s not accessible. Ethiopia is sticking with MoU with Somaliland.

Failed State of Somalia, has a track record of deceit. Among Somalia's sabotage od Somaliland development was the 2009 Berbera port deal where Ethiopia could have secured 19% share. Ethiopia was offered alternatives by Somalia, that have yet to materilise 15years later. Somalia has cried wolf once too many, it is time to ignore it. If Somalia can be threated with recognition of Somaliland, who is next to gain from this strategy?

Very interesting topic, but Somaliland is the best country in East Africa strategically and soon it will be the new emirates
