glad I found this I want to get into IT myself and was watching a few of Professor Messer's videos, but got to where my brain was starting to melt lol (perhaps it's becuase some of the terminology he was using I myself did not understand)

Thank you so much for this video. When I did computer science in school I shutdown the wrong computer and we lost everything 😔. Since then I've been avoiding the subject but in today's world its everything. Thank you for making it so easy to understand. This is my husband world and its so great to finally get a foundation knowledge from you guys without the fear of sounding silly if I asked him a question.

Excellent explanation about applications of systems talking to each other based on what you have envisioned of things to be, but thats about Science and Technology came from Science, and there are Science varieties as things moves forward, laterals etc. Other than Science there are Dimensions and there are Dimensional Types.

Before making any changes to an Operating System to troubleshoot it you must make backups . In a work environment, if you fail to make backups and user data is lost are you liable?

Can this help you study for the Comptia itf certification? I’m completely new to IT yet I am considering a career in IT and I want to start with this certification. I will be following the videos 1-38 it appears, taking notes 📝 and eventually take the examination. As far as specialty, I think based on what I read online on the site I think I would want to go into security.

Hi, guys. I'm to take the exam in a couple of days and have one question for you regarding one of the acronyms. What is Thread Local Storage (TLS)? Please explain it to me in a simple way. Thanks!

First, it is a computer programming method. Second, it is a programming method that uses memory that exists really only for a thread. So you may want use a global variable for a specific thread, but if you do, the call on your thread may cause unintended changes when other threads use the same variable. The use of TLS allows the variable to appear as a global variable but works only for that one thread. So that even if another variable were to use the same variable again, it would work for that one thread too without causing unintended changes. Put differently, to insure that you limit the scope of the consequences of your programming to a single thread. Hope this helps and best of luck to you on the exam!

I can’t believe I just bought this course via Stack Social.. also this course has missed out soooooo much content of the IT fundamentals exam it’s just not funny. Don is great but there’s so much unnecessary waffle going on here. I’ve spent days on this course and then I went to some practice questions. I’d say on average this course has missed about half of what we need to know. God knows what I’m going to do now

I'd like to assure you that course covers all necessary material needed to pass the exam, and the practice exam on our website accurately depicts what you will experience on the exam. We actually just had two of our own employees take the exam a few weeks ago and pass, with only having watched our videos. Their feedback was that the practice exam is actually more difficult than actual exam! Either way, we wish the best of luck to you on your studies and on the exam!
