Lakan condition actually real thing called prosopagnosia. It's cognitive disorder affect perception of human face

Lakan is a military strategist, The person who oversaw the military. He was called the "Fox of the East" (The military headquarter is in the East of the Palace). Also Shishou the old man father of concubine Loulan whom you just saw in this episode is Lakan counterpart, A high-rank civil officer whom got called "The Tanuki of the West" (The civl bureaucracy is in the West of the Palace). These two guys are considered two of the most influential persons in the royal court that even the Emperor didn't want to openly make an enemy of. Lakan is also the head of the La Clan, One of the noble house of the country. So Maomao is basically a noble lady, A princess of the La Clan... If she accept Lakan as her father that is...

Precisely, Lakan personally pushed Jinshi to bring forth blue roses specifically at the garden party for some specific reasons. 1 is everybody knows that consort Loulan will be making her 1st public appearance since being named as a consort. Her father will most likely be using this opportunity to bolster his influence in the court. Lakan knew this hence he thought of a way to somehow divert attention from the father and daughter duo and this is where Jinshi comes into play. Lakan knows Jinshi wont be able to present blue roses on his own and will most likely ask MaoMao for help. Lakan could have also be the one to present the roses but he pushed it to Jinshi so as to show the court/high ranking people that Jinshi can make things supposedly impossible to be possible. Lakan knows how important jinshi is thats why he opted to challenge jinshi.

@@gacrux-ni7hw Spoiler ll ll ll ll ll v Yes... With him raised through the rank in the military after returned from abroad, He cunningly took the title of Head of the family from his father. He removed his father and his half-brother who was the former heir from power and had them looking after the large farming estate of the clan while adopted his nephew, The second son of the half-brother as an his heir. (You'll see the nephew in next season, He's quite a character. Him and Maomao make a very entertaining brother & sister duo... Even though Maomao won't admit that)

I remember in school we did the dye flowers thing. We used white carnations. The teacher even showed us that if you split the cut end of the stem into 2 and put each one into different color dyed water, the flower will be half one color, half the other.

It's not that Lakan looks down on people or think they are pawns... well, he does that, too, but he also has Prosopagnosia--it's a cognitive disorder that prevents your brain from being able to recognize faces.

Face blindness is real, I have a mild version of this. It happens when someone change their hairstyle or added anything on their face. Sometimes i have an idea who the person is because of their silloutte but I can't connect their name to their face. Even if I met that person daily

Idk what’s the anime trying to suggest lakan has but there is a neurological disorder called facial agnosia where a person can’t recognize faces and depends on the voice، way of dressing and etc so yeah it is a real thing …

@@exia0616 In medicine both terms are correct 😊 Prosopagnosia is in Latin where prosopon = face Agnosia = ignorance So sometimes it is called facial agnosia even tho prosopagnosia Is the more common term

Normally explaining his condition is a bit too early in ep 22, should have waited for next episode, ep 23, at least to explain. It'll be explained anyway, then you can explain more about it after that. I saw some people comment this too early in ep 22 in other channels and it robbed the chance to react to this in ep 23. It is fine here simply bcs they already finished season 1 anyway.
