Very cool. I especially loved the part showing how one would have gone down into the Boiler Rooms with #6 as the example. I hope you guys will show exactly where and how the manually operated watertight doors worked along E and F decks...I have read descriptions but so far haven't gotten a good idea of how they actually worked.
@jeanscuissiato1356 жыл бұрын
Robby House It basically was a T shaped bar that was put into an entrance on the floor, when rotated it closed the watertigh door on the deck below. This was the case for all watertigh doors from G deck above. Only the ones on Tank top (there were 12 of them) were automatically closed.

Schade, dass sie die Olympic verschrottetet haben! Wäre heute ein tolles Museumsstück, zu sehen, wie man damals reiste, arbeitete und ... auf ein besseres Leben hoffte!!

That's not right. The ship is brand new. The boiler room ladders look like they're 30 years old. I hope that gets fixed. Boiler rooms are a pretty messy affair, but I don't think they would look that bad in the first 2 days.
@kennethschlegel8706 жыл бұрын
the ship its self is new, but smaller pieces such as ladders may have been off the shelf parts that predate the ship
@Iconoclasher6 жыл бұрын
Kenneth Schlegel That's possible. Even if they were "off the shelf" parts, I would have thought they would at least cleaned them up and painted them. Unfortunately we'll probably never know that answer for sure.

James S. I'M sure the guys at the Titanic HG and the experts they consulted know better.

Worked on a brand new ship before. All the ladders and walkways were more like what youd expect to see after year or 2. The ship builders do all the wear before shes handed over ..

If you were a First Class passenger did you have access to all of this should you want to go exploring? Conversely Second and Third class were restricted in their movements? It's hard to comprehend all the work that went into building this ship only to have it end up on the bottom of the ocean.
@JoaoSilva-od1zv4 жыл бұрын
First class could go anywhere in the ship altough it would be pretty unorthodox and it wouldnt be seen lighlty as you would be "out of your place". Second class and third passengers had designated areas where they could go or not
@1940limited4 жыл бұрын
@@JoaoSilva-od1zv I think it would be fun as hell for a first class passenger to explore the ship, but times have changed since 1912.

Are the boiler and engines in E Deck or F deck.??
@DerpyPossum3 жыл бұрын
Neither. They’re located on the Orloop Deck, which is the lowest deck on a steamship.

In a recent update the Titanic: Honor & Glory KZfaq channel posted, they explained that they are aiming for 2 years after they get financial backing from an actual company, who they are currently negotiating terms with currently. So aiming for 2020-ish but it could be later

Third class dining walls look too dirty for a brand new ship.
@N.a.r.i6 жыл бұрын
It's not dirt tho, it's the background metallic color. Third class walls were just the metal basic ones roughly painted white. Second and first class however, were covered in wooden panels.

Ofcourse its hot because of the coal fire!

ah, yes. the one that posed 0 danger to the ship and had no hand in the sinking.
