The green and violet are awesome. In the early 70's motor oil and purple worms were all the rage. This violet worm reminds me very much of the original purple worms but with a sparkle. I would shoot that under boat docks and hang on!! The green in the spring is just the thing.

Professor Adam in the HOUSE. Throughly enjoy your tutorial videos. All of the colors are delish. Absolutely love the progression of effects that each flake went through as you added each drop. As you stated Barlows surely did their due diligence but at 375 you would assume some damage to the flake but I saw none. We are so lucky that you do these videos. Once again my wallet is thinner so my lower back is not aching from all the weight of the cash. GBWY and GEAUX FISH everybody.

This is a great video. Thanks Adam! We've primarily seen colors degrade on remelts. As you've seen though, the pearl glitter is still pretty heat resistant. In our tests it just wouldn't take as much heat as our standard glitters, so we felt the disclosure was important.

Thanks! I can see, perhaps, multiple remelts causing a problem perhaps, but I would hazard to guess that’s likely true across the board, regardless of pigment and/or flake! All in all, great product! I look forward to stretching its legs in future builds!

@@SDGCustomLurecraft Back seater / co-angler at that time ... and was boating them left & right from the back in 30' while my buddy up front was struggling in the prime position in a cut ... on almost every drop to the btm and sometimes on the fall near bottom IT WAS FISH ON !! 7 total same lil spot all about 14''-16'' didn't weigh them because he said it would take twice the weight to get paid to this day I still would have liked to weight them just to see where i placed ( local club Tourney ) but his boat his call ....

Hey Mike, I try to keep up on all new comments, yup! That hot plate was just a $40-$50 deal from Walmart or Target - I want to say Black and Decker but I’m not 100% sure. Nothing special, but I did buy two “diffuser plates” off Amazon which help to even out the heat a bit, spread it around.

does regular powder paint work for these baits? love the gold!

If you mean powder pigment, yup! I used it in white and gold in the video. If you mean powder paint for jigs, no. You can add soft plastic powder pigment to clear powder paint to create a jig head color, but it doesn’t work the other way around. Hope this helps!

Yup, NP. The jig paint would melt, harden, and flash cure given the heat of the plastisol (recall, its designed to cure rock hard in the oven at 325-350) - Probably ruin the Pyrex cup (or worse) as well! Yowzah!

That Pearl flake is awesome. Believe it or not it works well in powder paint as well. By the way have you heard from Dan? I have tried texting him and emailing him and he hasn't responded nor has he made a video in a long time. Really worried about him.

I wonder if the extra heat has an effect on the colors over time. such as after 6 months to a year, or after 2 years. I know Yamamoto colors will fade dramatically after about 5 years

Good question - my guess is its not as much about time as heat, specifically for this product... only because I think you run the risk of EVERY color and EVERY flake breaking down over that much time. And, if I had to guess, I bet the Yama stuff is all the worse given the level of salt in the mix - that's got to take a toll on the pigment and flake over time.

@@SDGCustomLurecraft good summation. All that salt very likely is the biggest factor for the Yamamoto plastics I experienced fading so much after so many years. They're not supposed to get better over time, like wine, after all. And my question was mostly out of context in regards to the purpose of your testing. My guess is; if they didn't hold up to the heat they very likely won't hold up over time. But it was good to see the pearl flake from Barlows hold up. Barlows is my favorite bulk supplier. I have literally spent thousands of dollars with them over the past three years, primarily on molds more than hooks. I expect that to change soon. Their prices can be very hard to beat for the most part. They do more product testing and inspecting than most would give them credit for, and I have seen a lot of ridiculously inferior products from other supplier. It's good to see well thought out and conducted experiments. You've got a very very concise and eloquent style. Congrats on the speedy rise on your subscription totals!
