Years ago when I moved to South Florida, the corporation I work for insisted that we wear a suit and tie everyday. I seldom, if ever, wore the jacket. I was usually in shirt sleeves because it is so stupid hot in the summer. A regional director came to visit and to make sure I was doing things properly in accordance with corporate standards. We had an appointment in downtown Miami, as usual, there was no parking. We parked about two blocks from the office tower. He insisted that I wear my jacket and I told him I would not. I left it hanging in the car. That began to make his blood boil. I explained that we will not be presentable by the time we get to the meeting. He wore his suit and enjoyed the two and a half blocks stroll to the building. By the time we got there, he excused himself. He said I'm going to wait down here in the lobby for you I looked and his hair was flat with sweat. His glasses were fogged up, he had sweat stains through his shirt and his jacket. He was wiped. I was not written up for not following the dress code. He never came back.

When visiting Las Vegas I overheard a customer telling a clerk she sympathized with her because of the high humidity.....it was 34%! The day it was 1%, was the day I had to buy some fizzy balls, put them and my feet in the bathtub at the hotel. Lathered up my feet with special foot moisturizer! Then had to find a lip balm for my peeling lips!! Never had these problems here in south Texas!

NC's humidity is absolutely next level, especially on the coast. I mostly lived in Charlotte, and even that was bad. Boone was the only place I got to escape it. Now I live in central Texas where people complain about the "humidity" and I just laugh...

@@Catamount1412 NC? hehehehe...that's cute. We're slowly evolving down here in the panhandle part of Florida to be half-amphibian. This time of year, you practically need gills to go outside after a brief, 15 minute rainstorm. Just enough rain to turn the asphalt into an instant sauna, raising the humidity to, I'm guessing, about 210%.
