this is 100% a public area you are allowed to film there, In New Zealand the filming and photography rules are very clear, you can take photos or film anywhere that the public are aloud unless its a toilet or hospital

Nah mate, your very wrong... Public access is different to publicly owned.. a privately owned business that is open for public access can indeed kick you out for filming.

I think that you will find it's more complex than that. On one hand the indoors of a mall or shop may be considered a public space in terms of photography but it is also a private space in terms of permission to be there. Privately owned spaces (like malls) do not have to allow you to enter or to stay. Provided they don't discriminate (by breaking the provision of the human rights legislation) they can have their own rules about what is banned in their premises. This can include all sorts of things such as photography, skateboarding, swearing, running, clothing rules etc. They can require you to leave their private property if you don't follow their rules.

Thanks for the tour Curls .. My Dad's family grew up in Manurewa (His brother still lives there). I have many fond memories visiting my Grandparents place who spoiled me rotten in the 1970's/80's, including visits to a local movie theatre now occupied by several churches on Mach Rd. I think the township went through some tough times in the 00's (after my Grandparents passed away; Probably behind the enthusiastic security guard in Southmall), but it appears to be looking up some from ths video. Great to see the murals - They certainly brighten up the shopping district. Cheers, 🥝🐐

I can guarantee that the security guard was not European. We know our own laws. Others don't. I was recently waiting outdoors in my car for a parking spot (with the motor running) at Greenlane Hospital, with my window open, smoking a cigarette. An immigrant security guard approached me in my vehicle and instructed me to put my cigarette out, "it's not allowed" said he. I told him where to go in very colourful language, and why. He had no defense to that and slunk away. The immigrants bring with them the attitudes and dictatorial ways of the third world hell holes that they left, and attempt to impose them on the people who were the founders and builders of New Zealand. Stand your ground...
@juandenz2008
@juandenz2008 Жыл бұрын
Where were you waiting ? Because buildings, grounds and vehicles owned or leased by Auckland DHB are all a smoke free environment. If you were smoking in a vehicle on the grounds of Green Lane hospital you were breaking their smoke free policy. The authority of which comes from the Smoke Free Environment Act. Seems like you owe the guard an apology.

Mate. You need to go to Mt Albert. Catch a train and as soon as you get off there are loads of restaurants. Each one of them is amazing. The bakery makes amazing pies, Momo tea and Chinese Noodle shop has amazing noodles, amazing kebab shop, Thai resturant has amazing Pad ki mao. Korean resturant has - Chicken Katsu Udon that you will not get anywhere else in New Zealand. At least I have tried and havent found it in North and South. Then you can either Uber or Bus to Pt Chev beach which is amazing. And if you like Indian cuisine, Saffron Ponsonby does $13 buffet on the weekends. But check on the price. I have not been there in years.

@@FerretKibble Well good to know you feel safe and that my experience isn't valid to your experience, I've literally had people shouting stuff at me while walking back to my car from the train station while they were drinking in public. Maybe you just don't have to walk around when the sun goes down much? or maybe you don't even live in rewa/ "that area". I've also had someone follow me home which is why I now have a treadmill. Another "Invalid" occurrence was when I left the interior light on in my car and had someone on my ring camera go right up to my car which was on my driveway to see if there was anything they could take. Generally people are pretty cool here but like anywhere in the world its about time and place and not looking like you would be easy to take advantage of.

@@jader6423 YOU said "I always feel like I have to be on high alert and be ready to deescalate or fight, its never happened". I've been followed in pakeha majority areas, Never in Rewa.

@@FerretKibble Yes and that's your own experience, I said its never happened it just FEELS (feelings are subjective) that way as there are a lot of rough characters out here as its not a rich area and people struggle here. With struggle come desperation which sounds like its something you are struggling to grasp. Why are you virtue signal with your te reo? we are both white you can say white you've said it before, or is that just your way of say "white majority areas" so you don't sound like you're being ignorant when you really are, as if there is some sort of isolation of races. If I had said the exact same thing but stated that I was a Maori man then you wouldn't have battered and eye, but for some reason grandma Karen you got to get offended on other peoples behalf on things that will never affect you and you will never understand. You should stick to comments on stuff you actually know about like your crocheting, weaving and vegan tofu it sounds like someone hasn't wanted you for a long time which maybe why you are not being followed. Maybe you should reflect on the way you are judging other people and trying to defend people you'll never truly be connected to and who don't need defending because they are STRONG people REWA HARD. Maybe just maybe you should try and move to Rewa and live in our shoes before you judge us. I just said I was white to give context as my culture matters too but it was you who ran with the race card ma'am.

@@FerretKibbleI remember the days rewa was pakeha majority, wasn’t until the early 2000’s it started to get dodge, but your right because I live in a relatively safe area with low crime in Melbourne Australia but I’m still always looking over my shoulder and aware of my surroundings thanks to my upbringing in rewa.
