Brazillian here! We usually use nicknames to call our players. Kaká is a nickname for people called Ricardo, we take the "ca" in Ricardo, and we call people "Cacá", that sounds the same as "Kaká". For Pelé, his nickname was actually "Bilé", who was a player in a brazillian team when he was a child. But the boys had bad diction, so the would say Pelé instead of Bilé, and then the name of the king was born!

Pele’s name comes from his favorite player growing up: Bile. But his friends would make fun of him for mispronouncing Bile as Pele. So his friends would call him Pele and the name stuck with him.

There is reason why Pelé goes by Pelé. His name is Edson Arantes Nascimento, but when Edson was a kid, the Brazilian goalkeeper was called Belé, and Edson called him Pelé. Because of this, friends called him Pelé, and as he moved into a football career, he kept the name Pelé. Obviously now, it's become quite the name to remember

Pele's name comes from his childhood. When he was young, he got taken the piss out of the way he used to say a goalkeeper's name and they started calling him Pele. All of this is from his own film(Btw it's been a long time since I've last watched the film so if i said something wrong feel free to correct me)
