Jess I am a 52 year old married lady wtih no children, I am not a fan of Disney, I am not into make up yet here I am peeking into your life with seemingly nothing in common yet I watch all your vidoes through to the end. Your authenticity, kindness and vulnerbaility is enganging and a testament to the bonds that can be forged over technology and across a generation. I am routing for you and your growing family.

All my kids have a 4 year age gap (I have 4 total) I think it’s a great age gap! You get a lot of individual time with each child because the older one starts school around that time. Even though my oldest is 12 years older than my youngest they all get along well!

It's so refreshing to hear youtubers mention that it took them a while to conceive. We've been trying for over a year now for a first baby and it so tough, literally feels like everyone is having babies sometimes and it's just not happening for us. I think before you start trying, a lot of people are just under the impression it happens immediately because not enough people mention take about the struggles. Love to everyone here dealing with similar!

@@Abcdefghijajajaja what a strange reply. No not at all...it's just that a lot of people on social media try to make out they live a perfect life/don't struggle with anything and it makes others feel bad that they don't have a 'perfect life', even if it isn't real. It's nice when people don't do that and aren't fake. Have a nice day 🙂

You're doing great, Jess!! As a disabled nurse the "poor organization" you described is very upsetting. They made a huge error that could have ended... really badly. For those who don't know, the baby could have died! Then, not letting you know they planned to put Gigi in the NICU. Sadly, my bet is they did/didn't do some other things as well. I'm sorry you had that experience. Trust YOUR instincts when it comes to taking Lexapro after delivery. You can not go on it; you can go on it immediately; you could wait for symptoms and call your doctor if you have them; or you could get the script and fill it immediately and take it if you start any symptoms. The biggest thing I would tell myself if I could go back in time is 1) There's nothing wrong with asking questions!! As a nurse I encouraged questions and was happy to answer any and all questions. There really aren't any stupid questions. 2) Trust your own instincts!!

I had post partum depression with my first child. I was 31. I wanted children. I wanted to be a mom. I think the realization that you have a tiny human that will depend on you for life is a dramatic change. I didn’t have a problem with my second.

Yes! Ask your doctor questions. I am a nurse and I love when patients ask questions! It helps us know what you are thinking about and need. There is so much to cover and some patients have done a lot of research and made up their minds about things and we want to be respectful and not be teaching them about something they are already set on. Anyway, yes anytime you have questions ask you doctor!!! They will be better able to help you💕

I'm not one to comment, but I have to say when you said, "it's okay to ask questions" I started to cry. I'm going through my first pregnancy and am seeing an MFM due to an autoimmune disease and I'm just plain scared. There's so much to think about and hearing someone say "it's okay" to ask questions is such a relief. I'm in the same mindset of "oh I don't want to be a burden" but I've never done this before! So hearing someone else say that it's okay is really comforting, so thank you.

Congrats on a your second trimester! I also experienced a 1st trimester loss, and I can only imagine what it would be like to go through it more than once. I know the worry is probably still in the back of your mind, but it’s very encouraging that you’ve made it this far. Just take it day at a time & try to focus on 1 thing each day that’s going well. I’ve found that gratitude is a weapon against worry and anxiety (not a cure though.. I’m on Rx for that…) I’ll be praying you & yours see yourselves through a long and healthy pregnancy. My heart is *in it* for any woman who has experienced issues with fertility or loss. You will persevere, Mama. You are strong, and everyday you are becoming the perfect person for the soul who will make you a mother on earth. I don’t know what the future holds, but come what may: You’ve got this. 💞🤰💪♀️

I think that having the second baby is more manageable because you and your husband have learned who you are as parents. After you have figured out baby care and evolving needs of an infant, you also figure out how you do parenting. That makes SUCH a big difference, at least it did for me. The third baby was even easier.

Jessica, I'm so excited for y'all! My son Ty is 3 months younger than GiGi so we were pregnant at the same time which was great. I remember watching your delivery video bawling my eyes out. I am so glad you talk about PPD so much because it's important. I suffered from it and had horrible intrusive thoughts which made it even worse. I'm so thankful that at 2 weeks in I told my doctor that I needed to get back on medication. Thanks for advocating about speaking up and not suffering in silence. 🙏 Sending hugs from GA 💜

Everything you have to report about that first OB’s practice is reminding me of the office I started at with my first pregnancy last year. It’s such a test of “growed-up-ness” when you realize _You Are That Person_ to speak up and make sure that stuff gets done for your growing family. (My “red flags” happened pretty early, so I did bail on them before my daughter was born, but not without some serious guilt. Still, probably one of the best things I did for myself & my daughter was to transfer my care. (Not that it came to me easily.)

I relate to your first pregnancy sentiments so much. My daughter was unplanned, which I think made postpartum even more challenging. My whole life flipped upside down and I had absolutely no idea how to cope. At four months postpartum I tried counseling and it was one of the most degrading experiences I’ve even been through. Which illustrates your point about becoming your own advocate. Thank you so much for sharing your advice and experience. Even for us who have kids, it’s a welcomed solace 🤍

I so enjoy watching you and watching your journey as your family grows. We have three children and I remember feeling the same way about how we will manage 2 over one and then three over two. One of my close friends gave me the best advice and I now pass it on to everyone that is going through a life change. She told me “it becomes your new normal”. Which is so true. Every life change has it’s struggles and the transition period but then comes a time that you think wow- I can’t believe I used to worry about that.

Definitely think there is a huge identity and life shift from 0-1. I’ve seen it described as “matrescence” or the transformation into motherhood. Learning how to balance all the invisible load of motherhood, caring for someone else and trying to care for yourself, caring for your marriage, the way your friendships change, your body changing, figuring out who you are as a parent. It really does holistically change you as a person! And my daughter (my first) was very colicky with food allergies (wouldn’t take amino formula 😭) and colitis so that really took so, so much out of me.

Congratulations! It is awesome to hear you trusting your own instincts as a Mama, that's really where it's at. I wanted to share that when I was pregnant with my second child, my son was about 2 and a half and I read him "Sophie and the New Baby" by Albert Whtman all the time. He loved it and it's all about a sibling waiting while Mama's belly grows (which takes forever!) and then the baby is a total bummer-crying and lying about-before she learns to smile and play. It's really great.

With both my pregnancies (almost 20 and 17 years ago 🙃) I had severe all day nausea and vomiting up until about about 4.5 months. I had a girl then a boy so same with both. 20 years ago they were much more reluctant to prescribe anti nausea meds. They finally put me on Zofran but at that point they weren’t sure of it was safe for pregnancies which was scary but my alternative was to keep getting IVs every week to survive. Back then a Rx of Zofran was about $3000 without insurance. 😦It was my lifesaver for both pregnancies. Good luck to all of you that are expecting! Such a special time. 💖 Also, I have to shout out my step sister’s channel. She has tons of pre and post natal workouts - Bodyfit by Amy.

Dear Jessica, congratulations your baby! Thank you for sharing so much. As a mother of 2 (now Teens) who suffered with extremely bad post postpartum depression the first time around, I chose to go on the meds as soon as I could after the second one. I did not want to risk even getting anywhere near the " the black hole of depression" , so it was preventative. I wish I would have gotten help sooner with my first. And it was not even my obgyn who helped me. I think there is still so much misinformation and stigma and shame with this. We need to get keep talking about it!

But you eventually find your grove and it's amazing!

So encouraging to see someone else with a SCH! I’m 17+5 with my first baby and had one around 8 weeks that our doctors told us we were miscarrying to then see baby was fine on the ultrasound the following Monday. It is so scary & we were so terrified, but it’s great to see a mom with a baby who went through that and to know your baby is 3.5 & healthy now!

My first pregnancy was symptom free and I was a infertility patient. So back then (she’s 42 now!) I had to take my temperature every morning and by watching the numbers (I had been doing this for almost a year so I knew what to look for on the chart) that was the only way I felt like I should let my doctor know and he ordered the pregnancy test (remember we are talking late 70’s so no home test back then) and I finally got a positive! Still an uneventful pregnancy. When I went for my 6 week checkup I asked about OCP’s and he said I would probably have to do the infertility route for the next one. So for 3 1/2 years NO BIRTH CONTROL. Then all of a sudden I was nauseous all day and pregnancy never entered my mind. I had always worked for doctors so one day I was sitting in our nurses office and told her what was going on. She says maybe you’re pregnant. I said I doubt it BUT by then they did have primitive home tests so I ran to Walgreens and went home. Total I guess it took 30 minutes to show a positive! (Sorry this is so long but I have a point and I’m getting there!). Eventually the nausea went away. I wanted another girl so badly. I’m just not a boy kind of Mother. This pregnancy was totally different from the first. Of course it was a boy! And he was born with pneumonia from aspirating fluid before he was delivered. I can’t say I was not disappointed but the concern for his health over rode my disappointment. He’s 38 now and still suffers from asthma. (don’t believe them when they tell you they will grow out of it). So the moral is that your lack of nausea with GiGi and nausea this time it could be a boy. I know this post is ridiculously long but since you were going to find out the gender after this video I will be anxious to see what your surprise is!

I’m soooo happy you made this video! I’m 31 about to be 32 in January. I’m pregnant with my second and there is a 6 year gap between both pregnancy’s. I’m 29 weeks now and WOAH! First pregnancy was a walk in the park. I had 0 symptoms. And now!? A walk in Jurassic Park! Morning sickness, nausea was horrible, throwing up, headaches, dizziness.. the works. I’m now feeling a lot better but the nausea lasted a while. I’ve been looking for pregnancy skin care and when I read the title, I got excited! ❤️ congratulations and THANK YOU for this video!!

Hi Jessica- I don't know if I've commented before but wow I just appreciate how down-to-earth and honest you are. I've never had a baby but I'd like to someday, and I just watched your video about postpartum after your daughter and it was so encouraging. You don't fear-monger, but rather you speak the truth in a loving and encouraging way. I hope to watch it again when I'm pregnant so then I can remember not to feel anxious. You're like an encouraging but sister. Thanks and blessings to you and your family.

I was so nauseas for the first 19 weeks of my pregnancy. 😩 then I had one good week, then my blood pressure started bottoming out with the least bit of activity. My doctor didn’t think it was an issue because “my skin didn’t look dehydrated” (I was wearing a mask, how could they tell?!). It wasn’t just the awful feeling that I was experiencing all day every day, but the quarantine isolation & loneliness was compounding the experience and my overall mental health. (That’s largely why I left my OB’s office. They just couldn’t be bothered.)

My youngest (and last) is 2 months old today and this makes me miss being pregnant. I was one of the weird crazy ladies that LOVES being pregnant despite all the swelling, pains, difficulty getting around, nausea, etc. Still love it. Enjoy what you can, don't feel bad if you're not enjoying it, and remember you and Tyler are already awesome parents so this new baby is in good hands.

Jessica you are the funniest and most entertaining KZfaqr! I so enjoy your videos and as soon as one comes out I watch it. You provide such real and useful information on so many day to day rational subjects. You have also turned me into a Sephora Rouge and I will soon need to turn my art studio into my makeup room!😊😅😂. Seriously you are glowing since you became pregnant. Pregnancy looks good on you! You are an awesome mommy and you cracked me up with the talking into your bellybutton to the baby! How cute and funny was that?! I wish you and Tyler and Gigi a wonderful holiday season and a happy and healthy pregnancy and delivery and new addition to your family. Oh and also the same for Pinocchio. We can’t forget him! Happy holidays guys!😊💖🎄🤶🏻🎅🏻🙏🏻🎚🐶⛄️❄️

I ended up loving going to my pregnancy specialist because it always made me feel better about my pregnancy because they checked everything. I had to go every week to my normal doctor and my specialist. I had a full photo album of ultrasounds by the end.

Get the ALWAYS DISCREET 360 (the one that looks like underwear with the purple bow on it). You can layer it with an overnight pad too. It's SO COMFY, like a pillowy undies and protective.

Yes, walking is such good exercise during pregnancy! I walked my dog about a mile twice a day virtually every day while I was pregnant (right up to the day I was induced) and I truly believe it made for an easier delivery.
