What a fun reaction to a favorite movie! Evie is a girl after my own soul - I love her priorities: in the middle of a crisis, she can stop to enjoy scoring a point off a bunch of scholars who disrespected her, and correct Benny's translation! 24:42 That's based on history: Many tombs were raided, and the mummies were used for fire-fuel. Sometimes, the funeral wrappings were taken, and used to wrap meat. This of course caused all kinds of nasty contamination of the meat, and got lots of people sick to death. This was taken as more evidence of the effectiveness of the curses inscribed on the tombs.

That "Hey Benny, looks to me like you're on the wrong side of the river" is such an awesome line. Considering that the Nile river is infested with crocodiles it is a safe assumption that crossing it at any spot is like asking peeps to become chow. Oh, and camels are the prefered pack and riding animal for the desert. Broad, flat soft feet able to spread the weight across the sand, barely sinking into the surface of even soft sand; an incredible endurance; able to store water in the fatty tissue of their humps and release it as needed, able to lie down during a sandstorm and close both eyes and nose tightly, filtering out the blown sand through the hairs around their nostrils. Now compare that to a horse: stiff, hard hooves with barely any surface area, regularly sinking to their ankles into sand at each step, require huge amounts of water regularly in the desert heat that has to be carried along, reducing whatever else you want to carry, very likely to twist or break a leg when falling, and easily spooked, and easily suffocated under sand.

I have had a lifelong obsession with Ancient Egypt and it was only altered by this movie, I was about 10 when i came out and it's one of the few movies I can watch over and over, know every line, facial expression and scene and still never tire of it. I've see the 2 sequels as well and just the 1st Scorpion King movie (no need to suffer through the rest of them lol) but this one still remains my fave. However, I just came back from the immersive experience of King Tut (discovered around the time this movie is set) and it had me come find these reaction videos) Imhotep, Ack-su-namun- and Seti I were real people. However, historically speaking, they would of never met as they were many many years apart from each other. Imhotep was a priest, architect and physician who designed the first pyramids of egypt. Seti I was a pharaoah ofcourse, and Ack-Su-Namun (mispelled in the movie) was a princess, daughter of Akhenaten and Nefertiti, half sister of King Tut, also his wife. There is no way she would of been the mistress of Seti I or even in the same lifetime as him. Also in the second movie it's said Evie is the reincarnation of Nefertari, however there is no scientific proof of who her parents were, Seti the I was actually her father in law because she married Ramesses the Great, his son.

Did you know that actress is married to James Bond, Daniel Craig? If you want to see another Brendan Fraiser classic you gotta see ENCINO MAN. It also stars Sam from LOTR! I think you'd find the movie hilarious. Also, did you not notice that Rick and Evey had bags of gold on their camel at the end? If you think about it Anck-Su-Namun and Imhotep have a love story typical of the good guys, pure love but an evil guy wants her for himself, tortured and killed because they love each other and turned into evil monsters, for the entire movie he just want to bring back to life his loved girl

But then it’s a big twist near the end of the sequel to this one!!! Ditching him because he won’t now just run away together with her and leave it all behind. By this time he was not the same anymore but basically sort of turned into a monster and warped but also he’ll bent on revenge and destruction instead of realizing she finally came back reincarnated!! Even found, then revived him in the beginning of the movie

This was my fave movie back then, the detail in it is amazing. Those mirrors were actually a thing the Egyptians used to light the pyramids, they were way ahead of their time and some hsd tunnels going down and then up to burial chambers, they definately wanted to make it hard to loot, good for saving their burials from grave robbers, bad for explorers and egyptologists wanting to find artifacts. Star gate is another good movie to watch since you like Egypt

The Mummy and The Mummy Returns are awesome - Stephen Sommers (the director) has a knack for old-school pulp adventure (the style of movie serials and cheap dimestore novels from the early 20th century), you should definitely check out Deep Rising, which is an action horror in the same style. The third movie is crap - different director (Russell Mulcahy), only Brendan Frasier and John Hannah was in it from the old cast, and there was no chemistry (also the script was a confused mess).

I rode a camel once, at a circus. It was like being on top of a wooden-lattice tower in a high wind: Swinging 2-4 feet forward, or back, or to the sides for every slow stride. They are not easy animals to master. They more stubborn than mules, and more viciously evil-tempered than llamas. Definitely in my top 10 favorite animals. Not as fast as a horse, but far more enduring, in the open desert. If you get a chance to ride one, I can only suggest you TAKE it! Zoology Nerd Note: Those seen here are not camels, but dromedaries. Camels are shaggier, have two humps, and are more often found in Asia.
